Welcome to the
Fifteenth Annual St. Andrew School
Emerald Isle Auction!
Welcome to the Emerald Isle Auction, St. Andrew School’s primary fundraiser and
social event of the year! Once again we have pulled out all the stops to ensure that
your experience “along the shores of Ireland” will be better than you could have
imagined. As you are enjoying the pleasant conversation, fabulous dinner fare, as
well as all the Celtic sights and sounds, please keep in mind that the Emerald Isle
Auction is an important source of revenue in our operating budget and makes it
possible for our school to make significant enhancements to benefit our students.
All proceeds go directly to support their education. We receive no regular funding
from any outside entity, and rely solely on tuition, donations and fund-raisers like
this to keep our doors open. Please help us to meet our goal this year of $175,000!
St. Andrew School continues to grow and establish itself as a viable educational
alternative for Helena students in grades K-12. We offer a sound education enriched
by our Catholic faith and values. This year’s enrollment is 185 students. With a
dedicated faculty and staff we continue to strengthen our educational programs
and develop our site at 1900 Floweree Street. In addition, our students participate
in several athletic programs; including soccer with the Vigilante League, track with
other small schools, Fitness for Life, and basketball with the Helena Area Home
School Athletic Association. We offer music classes, orchestra, art instruction
as well as drama in conjunction with Missoula Children’s Theatre. Our service
programs provide opportunities for our students to participate in a variety of
projects which benefit the less fortunate in our community.
Our graduates excel after leaving our school. They continue to be accepted with
generous scholarships to the colleges and universities of their choice and all are
flourishing in their chosen majors. Some are pursuing master and doctorate
degrees. Ninety-five percent of those who graduated from here after 2010 have
a college degree and are embarking on careers such as education, engineering,
accounting, theatre, law enforcement and computer programming. Some are now
starting families of their own. All have been well prepared to succeed in whatever
path they choose.
Enjoy your evening tonight! We are grateful for your support of the school.
Sincerely,
The St. Andrew School Faculty, Staff, Students, Families and Auction Committee

One Fabulous Raffle:
Three Fabulous Prizes!
First Prize: All Expense Paid Trip to Ireland

locals, kissing the Blarney Stone, journeying through Killarney, Kildare, and the
Ring of Kerry.
This package includes round trip airfare for two from Helena to Dublin, first
class hotel accommodations, seven full Irish breakfasts, four dinners, hotel taxes,
service charges, tips for baggage handling, and all local taxes.
You may choose which week you would like to depart (based on availability).
Travel must occur between April 18, 2014 and October 25, 2014.
If you are not a traveler, you have the option of accepting $3,000 cash in lieu of the
trip.
Second Prize: A $1000 Gas Card
With gas prices going up, wouldn’t it be great to fill up your vehicle’s gas tank and
smile? Win this gas card and take that vacation this summer without the worry of
the cost of filling up the family truckster.
Third Prize: $500 in CASH!!
We can all use a little extra money -- take a chance to win some today.
How to Get Raffle Tickets
Raffle tickets are only $5 each or five tickets for $20 and are available at a booth
near the entrance to the auction. It only takes one to win! You may put your raffle
tickets on your bidder number this evening and pay for them later.
You must be 18 years or older to play. The lucky winners will be selected
immediately following the conclusion of the “Stand Up for St. Andrew,” after the
live auction. Ticket holders need not be present to win. Good luck!!
9
Win $500
At Vatican Roulette!
What is “Vatican Roulette?”
During the course of the evening, the numbers 1 through 100 will be sold for
$10 each. The purchasers of these numbers (contestants) will be given an equal
chance to win $500 in cash.
After all of the numbers are sold, 5 contestants’ names will be randomly drawn. If
any of the 5 contestants are not present at this time, their name will be eliminated
and another chosen. When all 5 are present, the contestants will be given an
opportunity to equally divide the $500 or continue drawing.
If there is NOT unanimous consent to split the $500 equally, a name is drawn and
that contestant is eliminated from the game. The four remaining contestants will
then decide whether to split the money evenly, or to continue with the elimination
process. This procedure continues until there is a unanimous decision or until
there is only one contestant remaining, who then wins the entire $500.

Meet Our Teachers
St. Andrew School is proud of its faculty and staff. Collectively they offer a
wealth of knowledge and talent to the education of our students. Moreover, with
a student/teacher ratio of 8:1, the students receive more personal attention here
than they would at many other schools in town.
To all of you who work day in and day out at the school, thank you for the
sacrifices you make to offer an education in the Catholic tradition in Helena.
Benefactors, please remember that your donations and bids tonight will help us to
keep quality teachers at St. Andrew School.

donation, purchased an item or simply came to show your solidarity, you are a
part of an important endeavor whose goal is to bring a brighter future to children,
the Helena community and the world. We can’t do this without you!
Tonight I want to offer special thanks to the committee chairs who have worked
many months to make this auction a success. These dedicated volunteers, working
with other enthusiastic parents, were responsible for soliciting donations, serving
food, planning event logistics and setting-up/tearing down. We also applaud our
high school students who were here to show their commitment to the school’s
mission by helping to serve food, check coats, wash dishes, register guests, and
facilitate the live and silent auction.
This is a great St. Andrew effort and could not be so well coordinated if it were
not for our chair Jenne Caudle and auction workers Donna Weiner and Tammy
Hoffman who are so ably supported by office staff, Sherrill Hall and Denise
Hampton.
We are enormously grateful for the various ways all of you support the school
through the Emerald Isle Auction. We are aware that without your help St.
Andrew School simply could not exist and we continue to offer prayers each day,
for you, our benefactors.
Sincerely,
Donna Smillie, Principal
Diane M. Eodice, D.O.
