establishment and has grown to become London’s finest school teaching a wide
range of complementary diploma courses and workshops. It has a mission to
spread authentic types and styles of massage to a wide an audience as possible with
an aim to providing benefits of hands - on therapy to all members of society.

International Therapy Examination Council (ITEC.), Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT), the Association of
Physical & Natural Therapists (APNT), Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), and CThA. It is also affiliated to the

PRINCIPAL:
BHAVESH T. JOSHI BSc. OSTEOPATHY, Dip. TCM ACUP., NLP
Bhavesh began a career in Osteopathy in 1989, at the British School of Osteopathy. Upon qualification, he
established several clinics in London, and began to teach regularly on various complementary courses
before setting-up the London School of Massage in 1994.
He held the post of Senior Lecturer (Applied Anatomy) and Clinical Supervisor at the London School of
Osteopathy (1995 – 2000) and has also worked for the British School of Osteopathy as a “Demonstrator
in Anatomy” lecturing at the Royal College of Surgeons.
During its accreditation stage with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), Bhavesh took on the role of
Clinical Director at the College of Osteopaths (July 2000). He also lectured at the College in Integrated
Biomechanics as well as tutoring in the school out patient clinic as a Senior Clinician.
Bhavesh is also qualified in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture (Dip. TCM Acup.) and has trained
extensively with masters and teachers in India in the arts of Ayurvedic Medicine (Dip. Ayurveda, India),
Ayurvedic Massage and authentic Marma Massage.
He is also a Certified Practitioner in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP).
Students benefit from his personal tuition on most courses.

BTEC PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA COURSE – Level 5
London School of Massage are proud to be the only school in the UK to be accredited in the BTEC Professional
Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology & Therapeutic Massage at Level 5.
It is the HIGHEST level in the UK and has been developed to teach any aspiring individual in the fundamentals
of therapeutic massage and bodywork. It forms the foundation for many physical therapy courses, both at a diploma
level as well as higher.
It aims to take the student beyond the level of just providing holistic massage and explores ways in which massage
therapy can be used to provide lasting therapeutic effects on the soft tissues of the body. In particular, it will look at
treating low back and shoulder pain thus enabling the practitioner to provide just more than a sequenced holistic
massage routine.
This course also combines the ITEC Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology & Massage Diploma (QCF Level 3)
qualification so that on completion of the course you will attain two diploma certificates.
How it will work: The ITEC syllabus will primarily be covered in the initial part of the course and this will be
expanded by the BTEC syllabus which will be introduced in the latter part of the program.

A good knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology forms the stable foundations for progressing in bodywork.

COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Individuals need to be 18 years of age at the time of sitting the exam, although it is preferred that students
have greater life experience before embarking on this course.
5 GCSE’s or equivalent are recommended, but this is not essential and students will be accepted on
individual merit. Admission is solely at the discretion of the Principal.
The level of English required for overseas students is IELTS level 6-7 or equivalent.

ANATOMY, PHYSIOLOGY & HOLISTIC BODY MASSAGE
ITEC ACCREDITED DIPLOMA COURSE - Level 3 (QCF)
This course in Anatomy, Physiology & Massage has been developed to teach any aspiring

This distance learning Anatomy & Physiology course is designed for those who want to study in their own
time and at their own pace. It provides a no non-sense way of studying with provision of full notes and
question booklet.
The course will cover all aspects of the ITEC Anatomy, Physiology & Pathology syllabus and
will allow students to move onto other courses such as Holistic massage upon successful completion.
The course is supplemented with a full course file and reading material containing directed learning and
exercises. This will take the you through to completion of a useful and nationally accredited
qualification (level 3).

SPORTS INJURIES & CLINICAL REMEDIAL MASSAGE DIPLOMA COURSE
BTEC PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA – Level 5
This diploma course in Sports Injuries & Massage provides an excellent opportunity for anybody wishing
to further their knowledge and skills by learning how to evaluate and treat a wide range of common
injuries utilising previously learnt massage techniques.
Although the course title suggest sports injuries, a wide range of everyday injuries can also be considered
for treatment following completion of this diploma.
The course forms a very good platform for any individual who wants to work and progress in the sports
industry or further their studies in Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Sports Science etc.
This BTEC Professional Diploma course covers the ITEC qualification and then proceeds to expand on the
theoretical and practical aspects of Sports Therapy by including further technique skills, orthopaedic
examinations and neurological assessment of the lower motor pathways.
On successful completion of this course you will be able to join the Sports Massage Association (SMA),
and the Complementary & Natural Health Council (CNHC).

AROMATHERAPY MASSAGE DIPLOMA COURSE
ITEC ACCREDITED - Level 3 (QCF)
This course is a level up from the diploma course in Anatomy, Physiology & Massage. It introduces the
therapist to a variety of essential oils as well as their properties and uses. The course teaches students
how to choose and combine essential oils as well as how to produce a treatment that is tailor made for the
client. The essential oils work at different levels of mind and body and treatments which incorporate their
specific use leads to a therapy which is truly holistic in nature.
Aromatherapy is possibly the “most universal” therapy in that it can be easily combined and integrated
with other therapeutic disciplines such as Hot Stone Massage, Sports Massage, Reflexology, Indian Head
Massage etc.

By the end of the course each student will produce a massage portfolio which will include write up and
treatment of 10 individual clients who have been massaged a minimum of 6 times each. This should
include client comments for before, during and after the treatment for each session incorporating details
about the choice of oils and blends. Students will be guided through this process during the course.
The final work will be presented to the ITEC examiner for assessment and approval.
EXAMINATIONS
 Assessment – Guided write up assignment of 15 aroma oils of your choice
 Practical Examination – involving a full consultation and aromatherapy body massage. The exam is
assessed by a visiting external ITEC examiner
 Case History Portfolio – Presentation write up of a total of 60 treatments (guided exercise)
Successful completion of this diploma course will provide you with the title of “Aromatherapist”.

REFLEXOLOGY DIPLOMA COURSE
ITEC ACCREDITED – Level 3 (QCF)
Reflexology is a holistic and scientific art and an extremely effective form of healing. Because the feet
represent a microcosm of the body, all its parts are laid out in a similar arrangement. This course will
provide knowledge of specific pressure techniques that work on precise reflex points on feet and
hands thereby providing grounding for treatments that work in a holistic yet objective manner.

INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE COURSE
ITEC ACCREDITED COURSE
Indian Head Massage is a traditional therapy which focuses techniques around the head
and shoulder region. The course teaches the more popular western version of Indian
Head Massage which utilises techniques as taught in Holistic Massage. The sequence not
only involves massaging the head, but also the mid and low back as well as the arms.
The treatment is conducted with the client seated and fully clothed making it perfect for taking massage
into the office environment when combined with Onsite Chair Massage.







This Baby Yoga and Soft Stretching Diploma course is designed to teach the theory and practice of how to use Baby

practice massage, yoga and soft stretching with their baby safely.
This course is aimed at Baby Massage instructors who want to expand their classes to include Baby Yoga and set
up independent Baby Yoga classes. This course does not qualify you to teach "Mother and Baby Yoga" classes. The
course covers yoga for babies and some gentle stretches for parents. Further study of yoga at a teacher level is
required to teach advanced yoga moves

The course syllabi are comprehensive and include all the subjects required to cover the Reiki Council NOS (National
Occupational Standards) recommendations. Our Level 1 and 2 course prepares you for both professional practice and
