New Year is the most expected and loves
holiday in a year, but little people still
remember that it came to us from Europe.
Every country has its own traditions and
customs in celebrating New Year. We are used
to get together with salads and sandwiches. But
in Great Britain they have another traditions.
English prefer to celebrate New Year with
friends on the streets in English pubs and
restaurants. For young people organized
Christmas parties, which begin at 8 pm and last
until morning. At Piccadilly Circus or Trafalgar
arranged festivities. Street vendors go with
knapsacks
Christmas
toys,
whistles,
masquerade masks and balloons. For children
in the theatres put on New Year’s stories old
English fairy tales. They are headed by Lord
Chaos gay pageant. It is attended by fairy- tale
characters such as the Hobby Horse, March
Hare, Humpty Dumpty, Punch and many
others.
Trafalgar Square is set large Christmas tree
that year tradition brought from Norway. There
are also hosts the annual London New Year’s
parade, which is considered one the most
popular New Year’s folk processions. It
involved more than ten thousand people, most
of whom are musicians, dancers, clowns and

generation will switch to the channel with

HOLIDAY WITH FRIENDS
You can spend holidays with friends in the

an ability to control yourself and your creative
mind. Again, it’s not necessary to sit at home

Serials is a variety of the TV programs that
consist of separate, successive episodes". For
someone serial is simply entertainment or way
to rest from grey week-days. But for me it is the
entire world full of many plots and storylines,
where there are favorite and interesting for me
heroes or, that are unpleasant for me. Every
hero has problems and experiencing with that
he tries to manage, and even if hero is a lonely,
friends will always come to him for help,
because in fact nobody never can manage with
problems alone.
I am a not only one person in the world, who
does not imagine life without them, therefore I
present 7 British serials to you, that, to my
mind, everyone will like.
7. Downtown Abbey
A serial tells us about Grantham’s county. His
last heir dies, and now family expects, that all
inheritance will pass to count’s senior
daughter. But the head of family, who gave all
his life to the manor, refuses from this deal,
decides that all inheritance must go across to
his distant relation. A serial tells about England
in 1912th. If you are a history lover, then this
serial is just for you.
6. Merlin
The Camelot Kingdom is in chaos and only,
who will be able stop it is Merlin, Who was

understand a serial, unnecessarily to look
Doctor Who, but if you interested, then you
should look everything about him.

When we talk about British music, we
remember legendary”The Beatles”, “ The
Rolling Stones”, Led Zeppelin, The Who,
Pink Floyd and Queen. Today they are
famous and popular. Their music is
many-sided and increadible. There is
psychedelic fate and indie, and The
Yarbirds, The Kinks, The Beatles and
Pink Floyd used these genres. Their
songs turned out successful. It’s true that
sometimes we have to risk!
New scene developed 30 years ago. It is
alternative fate and such as: brit – pop,
grandge, indie-pop,etc. Their genres
were used by Radiohead, Muse, The
Clash, Placebo, The Smiths. And now it’s
using by Alex Turner, Arctic Monkeys,
The Kooks, Kasabian, Coldplay and
others. This style is for relax. Today
singers are popular in folk. Florence &
The Machine was burnt and was used by
Ed Sheeran. Birdy and One Direction are
popular for teenagers. London Grammar,
Bastille, The XX use mix indie and
electronic music. Adele is famous singer
and composer. She uses music in such
styles as : blues, pop- jazz. Hurts is
musicial band, which uses sinti-pop and
new-wave styles.
I think that this music is listened in
the world.
