Remote Vehicle Tracking System
Real Time GPS Vehicle Tracking System
This is a real time vehicle tracking system that uses the Global Positioning
System to track the vehicle any time once it is needed. The system receives
satellite signals to calculate its location. The longitude, latitude, unit ID and
other GPS information is transmitted via an AMS cellular modem to a

Common Terms for CCTV
A.L.C. (Automatic Level Control) Allows the auto iris circuitry to either take bright
spots more into consideration (peak), bringing out detail in bright areas or less into
consideration (average) bringing out detail in shadows. In another words, make the
image more clear under different light conditions. All our camera have this function. It
is either built-in electronic or manually switch on.
Alarm Input It is mostly to be used with event VCR to start and stop the recording
when the alarm is triggered. The normal house hold VCR do not have this function. All
of our event VCR have this function.
Automatic Gain Control (AGC) An electronic circuit that automatically adjusts the
gain of a signal as a function of its input or other specified parameter.
B.L.C. (Back Light Compensation) Electronically compensates for high
background lighting, giving detail to objects which normally would be silhouetted.
BNC Connector Video connector, the commonly used in industry of CCTV. The RCA
connector is the mostly common used video connector for plug and play CCTV. It is
called universal connector. Most of our cameras have RCA connector for your
convenience.
CCD Charged Coupled Device. This is a solid state semiconductor imaging device often
referred to as an integrated circuit, chip or “imager.” Solid state cameras are often
referred to as CCD cameras.
CCTV It is the abbreviation for Closed Circuit Television which is a private or closed
television system.
Coaxial Cable A type of shielded cable capable of carrying a wide range of
frequencies
(video or audio) with very low signal loss.
E.I. (Electronic Iris) Shutter Electronic Iris shuttering is the ability of the camera to
compensate for moderate light changes in indoor applications without the use of auto
iris lenses. All of our cameras have this function.
Field One half of a frame of a image. (262.5 scan lines).
Field of View The area viewed by camera or the area can be seen by the camera.
Horizontal Resolution The maximum number of individual picture of elements that
can be distinguished in a single scanning line.
I.R.(Infra Red) A lights which the frequencies lower than visible lights that the CCD
camera can use it for light source, but can not be seen by human eye.
Iris The adjustable opening (mechanical diaphragm) through which light can be pass
and to regulated.
Lens A transparent optical component that converges light rays to form a two
dimensional image of that object. The lens can be made by glass or plastic. The best lens

Lux A unit measuring the intensity of light. One foot-candle=10 lux.
Manual Iris Lens A lens with a manual adjustment to set the iris opening (f-stop) in
a fixed position. Generally used for fixed lighting applications.

generated by the camera and lens
Multiplexer It is a device that allow one view more cameras image(more than four)
on the one monitor screen at same time or different time.
Pan Side-to-side movement of a camera on a horizontal axis.
PIP Picture in picture.
Quad A device that allow one view up to four camera images on one monitor screen
at same time or different time.
RCA Connector A video or audio connector most commonly used in plug and play
propose for video or audio equipment.
Radio Frequency Signals with a repetition rate above audible range, but below the
frequencies associated with heat and light.
Resolution A measure of the ability of a camera or television system to reproduce
detail. Typically refers to the number of picture elements that can be reproduced with
good resolution.
Scanner A device can pan only.
Switchers Alternates the displayed video image from one camera to the next.
Cameras cannot be viewed at the same time.
Tilt The up and down tilting movement of a camera.
Time-Lapse VCR Video recorder that can record frames with pauses between them,
thereby extending the time that a standard tape will last. The longest time-lapse VCR is
960 Hrs at this moment.
Varifocal Lens A lens with a variable focal length. May be used as a wide angle,
standard, or telephoto lens. The common varifocal lens is 3.7mm to 8.mm in the market.
