50’s can learn new skills, share their knowledge with others & have a social

U3A CENTRE CLOSED due to THE CAIRNS SHOW, Dates: 15 to 17 July 2015. U3A will
be closed for the entire 3 days Wednesday to Friday. (The Cairns Show Assoc. takes over
the entire parking area and the Badminton Hall) For 3 days classes at U3A Centre
CANCELLED – Guide Hut Classes as normal.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The U3A Cairns Inc AGM will
be held on Friday 21st August 2.00pm. All Executive and
Committee positions will become vacant and elections will be
held for the new Committee. Would you like to assist in the
running of U3A or do you know of a member with talent who
could assist? If so please consider nomination. It is important that each year we have
some NEW Committee members with fresh ideas. Nomination forms for the new
Committee will be sent out before end July. Completed forms must be received by the
Secretary, Colette Quinn by Friday 7th August.

published in monthly volumes in 1839, written to expose the barbarically
cruel conditions in the Yorkshire schools for 'Young gentlemen - No
Vacations". In 10 years Dickens achieved his aim of closing these
