Last year we launched the entirely innovated Z 143 LSi Genius.Yet it is no time to rest on our laurels. Development in the air industry is
making huge strides forwards and, thanks to our experience since 1934, we can push it even further.

a friend, a teacher and a professional

The Z 242 L was created just for that. The long-standing tradition of the
series 42 aircraft is represented by over 1,000 pieces that we have produced.
This continues to be a source of inspiration to us. But it is no antique what
we are offering. Our Guru represents another successful innovation in these
series of that aircraft. It retains its desirable properties as a training aircraft
while shifting the limits of manoeuvrability towards a special aerobatic aircraft.
The new wings, engine and steering system make the aircraft a genuine Guru.
Multiples of loading 6/-3.5 g make it possible to master all aerobatic figures.
The reworked steering system retains its absolute stability and precision in all
flight manoeuvres.The perfectly mastered aerodynamics of the entire aircraft
combined with the 200 horsepower output provide a sufficient quantity of
brute force in all situations. We opted for this combination with a view to
retaining the lowest operating costs possible.

SAFE-LIFE
We do not rely on average values. WE KNOW the exact structural state of your aircraft – this
is what matters!
We present to you: Safe-Life, the system of monitoring Safe Fatigue
Life of the aircraft. It is a method of evaluating the fatigue ageing
of the individual parts of the aircraft structure. In developing it we
made full use of our long-standing experiences supported by the latest technologies. We no longer determine only an average number
of hours of life of the structure. Now, we evaluate the structure
exactly based on the actual loading during the flights.
Today, you are getting tangible assurance of the safety of your beloved aerobatic friend.
The check will take you just a few seconds. The safety level is well
known now and the life cycle of the entire aircraft may be extended
indefinitely.
AMU
The AMU (Acceleration Monitoring Unit) data recorder installed
in the aircraft records data of every move, from the start to the
landing. It incorporates the latest technology in the field of General
Aviation.
AMU Viewer is a software package intended for your
computer. It contains a database of our experiences. The software
compares the actual data from your AMU with the database and
evaluates the actual condition of your aircraft´s structure. The software also evaluates with certainty whether a pilot used the aircraft
for aerobatics, or just „took a flight“ during a certain period of time.
Of course, all the communication may run simultaneously on-line
with us and we are able to address all your needs quickly and efficiently.

ENGINE
The ZLIN Z 242 L Guru adheres to the philosophy of low
operating costs with the maximum required power for all
aerobatic figures. It is powered by the strong American Textron Lycoming AEIO-360-A1B6 engine.The piston, four-stroke,
air cooled flat four-cylinder engine has up to 200 HP at 2700
revolutions. The fuel demand is 36 litres (9.5 gal) per hour in
economy mode.
