Ready? GO! Park vehicle on a smooth, level, asphalt or concrete surface. Block the front wheels. Jack up rear end of car and support with jack stands under chassis. Remove rear wheels and tires. For proper jacking point and jack stand placement refer to the owners manual or service manual. BE SAFE, DON’T DO ANYTHING WE WOULDN’T DO! 1. Locate the 4 black bushings and tube of special grease supplied in the hardware kit. Cut the end off the grease tube and apply the grease to the inside bore of the polyurethane bushings. 2. Remove the small emergency brake cable brackets that are attached to the trailing arms. These are affixed with 10mm bolts. Do this for both sides. You will install the included spacer later on to add clearance for the parking brake cable after the sway bar is added. 3. These next steps are best handled with a helper or using a spare jackstand to hold one end of the sway bar in place while assembling the other corner. Gather the bushings, 4 saddle brackets, 4 flat backing plates, 4 bushing brackets, all the M10 bolts, nuts and washers (8, 8, 16). Add one bushing in between the bushing stops at the front of the sway bar, repeat for the other side. Front of car Sway Bar Finger’s width of clearance between the sway bar and the rear beam/axle Rear of car 4. Using a jackstand or helper, hold the sway bar in place with approximately a fingers with of clearance between the rear beam/axle and sway bar (refer to the picture on the previous page). Mark where the installed bushings at the front of the sway bar reside on the inside of the trailing arm. This will be your approximate reference point to install the front brackets. 5. Bring the sway bar back down and slide the bushing bracket over the front of the installed bushing, place the backing plate behind the bushing and raise the sway bar to where the backing plate aligns with your reference point on the trailing arm. On the opposite side, hold the saddle bracket in place and insert the M10 bolt with washer through the saddle bracket, then through the backing plate and bushing bracket. Install the M10 washer and nut. And loosely tighten. The sway bar should still be able to slide to make final adjustments to the sway bar location. Repeat for the other side. Bushing bracket Front of sway bar Reference line Backing plate Saddle bracket 6. For the rear bushing / bracket installation, repeat the same assembly procedure as step 5 regarding the bushing bracket, saddle bracket, backing plate and hardware. NOTE! This is an adjustable type stabilizer bar. Moving the rear bushing assembly to the rear of the vehicle will produce less understeer. As shown below, the bar is in its stiffest position. Rear bushing shown in the stiffest position (less understeer) Move the rear bushing assy to the front to soften the sway bar. 7. Use the spacers, bolts and washers provided to reattach the emergency brake cable. Torque M6 bolts to 4-6 lbs. Shown in figure 3 of the photo page. 8. Tighten all hardware at this time. Torque M10 hardware to 30-35 lbs. Install wheels and tires using the correct wheel nut torque. Lower rear of car onto ground, and roll car back and forth to settle suspension. Installation is complete. Check assembly periodically for tightness. NOTE: The next steps in improving your B15 Sentra’s performance is adding the following parts: 1. 2JR 10mm Anti Lift Kit (ALK), reduce wheel hop and increase front grip 2. 2JR Rear Offset Trailing Arm Bushings (Solid Delrin) – Improves Lateral Response 3. 2JR Custom Spec’d BC Racing Coilovers, valved and sprung to your specs 4. 2JR Panhard Rod – the ultimate in cornering improvement, our panhard rod replaces your Scott Russell Link for a dramatic improvement in handling via a lowered rear roll center.
