Tip for beginners:
The indication in ounces (oz) for boxing gloves are weight specifications. The
more ounces, the heavier the glove, the more padding. For training and
sparring you should choose a heavy glove – 12 oz and more. For some items
we offer weights of up to 20 oz
This has several advantages: you don‘t only protect your hands, but also your
training partner effectively from injuries and due to the heavier weight, the
entire musculature is being strengthened so that in contests with lighter
weights – where 8 oz or 10 oz gloves are usual – the punches are effected
faster, more precise and more persistant. Additional weight cuffs, also
available in our product line, can even boost that effect.
