JULY 2016 FREE ENTERTAINMENT FRIDAY 1ST THE TROUBADOURS The Troubadours love to play all the classic hits that will get your feet tapping and you on the dance floor. The two Dave’s hail from the North Coast and appeal to a wide range of audiences with their popular brand of upbeat songs & rock classics. They cover a wide range of styles spanning four decades with songs by Dire Straits, Paul Kelly, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, U2, INXS to Black Keys & Smashmouth. Driving guitar riffs and melodic vocals give this duo a unique sound from classic party to beyond. SATURDAY 2ND RAKU Raku O’Gaia (formerly known as Soulman...) comes via Jamaica and England to life in Australia. A towering 6 foot 5 inches tall, he is a fluent raconteur spreading feel-good vibes in the high energy performances that are his trademark. Beginning in the depths of London’s Underground Subways, he honed his skills in the volatile world of workingmen’s pubs, clubs and bars across Europe, England and Australia. O’Gaia has become a one-of-a-kind singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist, and a classic tunesmith with several diverse and uplifting releases to his name. His dynamic groove-laden rhythms on guitar, mouth-harp, slide guitar and assorted percussion move from toe tapping country-funk to transcendental blues, road-ready Rock'n'Roll, heart-rending ballads and even a sprinkling vibe toting reggae all in the service of the most positive and inspiring songs played back to back...anywhere. He drew capacity crowds at each of his 5 Woodford performances, has featured at multiple Bluesfests and has held the stage with Archie Roach, John Butler, Xavier Rudd, Pete Murray and other iconic Australian artists. Luella is an artist with immense ability & enthusiasm. She is an attractive passionate performer and a prominent songwriter. A coalminers daughter from Collinsville North Queensland with a down to earth attitude and love of life, a life spent making music. SUNDAY 10TH PAULA WATT & DAVID BOND Both David Bond and Paula Watt capture the special essence of country pop through the ages, starting with country legends Hank Williams and Patsy Cline right through to the contemporary sounds of Lee Kernigan and Shania Twain. When two artists like David Bond and Paula Watt decide to join forces and star in their own production show, the result is explosive!!! Now available in either Solo, Duo, or Band format. Damion is a Coffs Harbour based Singer/Guitarist.He is a seasoned performer who is wellknown to local audiences. He delivers a blend of classic and contemporary hits with a high level of musicianship and an enormous degree of energy in his live show. His repertoire consists of Top 40 hits from the 1960ʼs-2000ʼs, ranging in style from easy listening, to upbeat dance tunes. SATURDAY 16TH MICK BATEMAN Prepare to be entertained Mick Bateman on guitar and vocals illustrates just how to captivate and charm an audience of any size or age with classic hits from the60’s through to favourites of today. The complete package, a combination of high energy performance, with a natural ability to keep the audience amused with a high level of comic relief. Supported by state of the art sequencing equipment to provide everything from acoustic ballads to a full big band sound , Mick delivers a huge variety of songs to please everyone. . SUNDAY 17TH JOHN MACDONALD John came to Australia in the early seventies, where he was an instant success, his popularity grew rapidly, and he was booked to appear in every major club, cabaret,concert venue, and television variety show "Down Under". John's own special brand of accordion music, and dynamic interpretation, delivered with a great sense of fun and enthusiasm, has endeared him to audiences all over the World including Hong Kong, the Philippines, Arab Emirates, and the South Pacific. He has also appeared in some of the top Casinos including Star City & Launceston Country Casino (Australia) and Sky City (New Zealand) He has toured with, and supported many overseas acts including Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Des O'Connor,Kenneth McKellar,Andy Stewart, Johnnie Ray, Al Martino,Frank Ifield,The Drifters,The Krankies, Sir Harry Secombe, and has appeared on all major Cruise Lines throughout the world including the "Love Boats' . JULY 2016 FREE ENTERTAINMENT FRIDAY 22ND (Pending) TIM PIKE Tim has a great range of songs to dance the night away with, he also has some well known interactive party songs such as; the Macarena, Casper Slide, Nut Bush, ketchup, Limbo, Chicken Dance, Superman and YMCA. These songs are really good when you want to get the guests involved and the fun started! “I feel there is nothing nicer than to make people happy and to see them dance and enjoy themselves”. Tim said nothing makes his night more satisfying than to achieve this result and he just can’t wait to do it all again the following weekend! He just loves entertaining. SATURDAY 23RD DAVE MOYE Solo musician, Dave Moye, is a vocal/guitarist with experience performing in Australia and New Zealand. A mixture of popular classics from a wide range of artists, such as Dire Straights, Paul Kelly, Van Morrison to Smashmouth, Dave has a sound to "get you up dancing" by blending his kaleidoscope of guitar sounds with repertoire diversity. SUNDAY 24TH PEARSON & HARVEY GEORGE HARVEY is a man of many faces. For George, show business isn’t just what he does, it’s what he is. He has been developing his skills since early school days when George’s teachers realised he had a personality & a voice.. a voice that made him the Solo Vocal Champion at Marist Brother’s colleges Australia-wide for 6 consecutive years. Even away from school, George’s place was on the stage, starring in productions of "The King & I", "Camelot" and "The Sound of Music". ROBERT MICHAEL PEARSON was born in the UK in 1961. His parents decided to move to Australia for a better life for their two children Robert & his sister Julie in 1971. A short trip by ship stopping at 'every BLOODY port' between Southhampton UK and Sydney. As Robert remembers; ' When you're 10 years old, there's not a lot to do onboard'. Robert doesn't speak much about his school years as it wasn't his favorite subject but being the class clown was. Rather than get beaten up by bullies, he made em' laugh instead, not knowing that years later it would be a major part of his life! So school was more of a learning ground for his craft. 'Thank you bullies!'. JULY 2016 FREE ENTERTAINMENT FRIDAY 29TH QUICK FIX Coffs Harbour Duo, Quick Fix, comprised of Mitch Young and Louise Richards, has been around now for about 8 years. Mitch, a Coffs local, has been playing in bands in the area since he was 13 years old. Experience, dependability & love of music are all at the core of this duo. Their repertoire ranges from Etta James to Jack Johnson, the Bee Gees to AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac, Tracey Chapman, with shades of old Jazz to pure pub rock. They can cover any type of function & get the whole room up dancing, or, if needed, they can keep it mellow & sweet. PRINCESS ROOM TICKETED SHOW SATURDAY 30TH DEAD SINGER BAND / $15 SUNDAY 31ST TERRY GORDON Born in Taralga, NSW, Terry was just five when his father took him to see ‘Tex Morton’s Wild West Show’. He decided there and then that he was going to be a Country Music Star and by age sixteen, he was playing guitar in a band; in his early twenties he was working as a solo performer on the Sydney pub circuit. Constantly in demand for work, he has appeared on most of the major variety shows, as well as on specialised CM TV programs. In the mid-eighties, Terry had his own live weekly TV show on Tamworth’s NEN 9. He was inducted into the Hands of Fame at Tamworth in 1981. Terry Gordon was honored with the coveted award of Country Music Entertainer of the year 1993, not only as a tribute to his recent touring and recording success, but also as a mark of respect for his 30 continuous years as a multi-talented performer. Since beginning his distinguished recording career, he has released 25 singles and 20 albums. His versatility as a balladeer, songwriter, bush poet, comedy performer and TV host has established Terry as one of CM’s finest entertainers. During a career of continuous travel, he has criss-crossed the length and breadth of Australia literally dozens of times. Terry has performed in all kinds of venues – from weather-beaten tents to the most modern TV studios and entertainment centers. On stage he has worked alongside such local CM legends as Tex Morton, Chad Morgan, Slim Dusty and just about all the greats of the industry.
