The WORLD CINEMA FUND works to develop and support cinema in
regions with a weak film infrastructure, while fostering cultural
diversity in German cinemas. It supports films that could not be made
without additional funding: films that stand out with an
unconventional aesthetic approach, that tell powerful stories and
transmit an authentic image of their cultural roots.
The CINEFONDATION lends its supports to the new generations of
filmmakers through the Selection (20 short films from schools in the
Official Cannes Selection), the Residence (12 filmmakers each year are
chosen to write the screenplay of their 1st or 2nd feature film) and
L'Atelier (15 projects of filmmakers selected).
The CENTRE NATIONAL DU CINÉMA ET DE L'IMAGE ANIMÉE (CNC) is
the public administrative organization in charge of supporting,
regulating, negotiating, promoting and distributing, cooperating with
local authorities, protecting film heritage in France. 41 films selected
in Cannes this year (all selections) have been supported by the CNC.
