DESCRIPTION:
Naqsh Short Film Days (NSFD) is an annual
festival of short films which is participated
in by filmmakers from Bahrain and from in
and outside the region. In 2013, the 3-day
festival was held at the Seef Mall Cinema,
and featured over 85 films by more than
57 directors from over 10 countries. On the
same year, the ‘Naqsh Creative Awards for
the Bahraini Film’ and the ‘Audience Award’
were also introduced. Sponsors included
reputable names such as Audi, Splash and
Nespresso.
BACKGROUND:
NSFD is an undertaking by Naqsh Gallery, a
premier art and events venue with a diverse
collection showcasing Arabic calligraphy,
Islamic motifs and other themes depicting
local culture.
OBJECTIVE:
NSFD was organized to celebrate and give
due recognition to the works of young and
world-class talents in the film industry in
Bahrain and the region.
OUTCOME:
The event fully utilized print, broadcast,
display and online advertising materials,
as well as social media networks. It created
enough media hype to draw attention towards
the wealth of talents and the huge potentials
of the film industry in Bahrain and the
region.
