Curtainwall 400 Series Curtainwall with 4 – Sided SSG 4407 mm (w) x 3188 mm (h) 173.5” (w) x 125.5” (h) O/O/O-O/O/O-O/O/O-O/O/O None tested Test specimen construction was verified by Architectural Testing, Inc. per the drawings located in Appendix A. Any deviations are documented herein and/or on the drawings. Tubelite Inc. provided the test specimen. The additional details of the corner construction are described in Table 3. Table 3: Corner Construction Construction Details A 124.9 mm (4.918") long shear block (Part # PTB49) was attached to the horizontal frame member using two (2), #1024 x 3/4” SS PH screws (Part # S270) into the exterior of the horizontal through the shear block screw splines. The shear block was attached to the vertical frame member using two (2), 1/4-20 x 1” HH Type D screws (Part # S328). A 108.9 mm (4.288") long shear block (Part # PTB96C) was attached to the horizontal frame member using two (2), #1024 x 3/4” SS PH screws (Part # S270) into the exterior of the horizontal through the shear block screw splines. The shear block was attached to the vertical frame member using two (2), 1/4-20 x 1” HH Type D screws (Part # S328). A 108.9 mm (4.288") long shear block (Part # PTB96C) was attached to the horizontal frame member using two (2), #1024 x 3/4” SS PH screws (Part # S270) into the exterior of the horizontal through the shear block screw splines. The shear block was attached to the vertical frame member using two (2), 1/4-20 x 1” HH Type D screws (Part # S328). www.archtest.com Joint Sealant Each joint was sealed using Dow Corning® 983 Silicone Glazing and Curtainwall Adhesive/Sealant A single pocket foam water dam (Part # PTB93) and an ethafoam rod (Part # P1094) were utilized at the end of each horizontal member and each joint was sealed using Dow Corning® 983 Silicone Glazing and Curtainwall Adhesive/Sealant Test Report No.: C0271.01-450-44 Report Date: 7/24/2012 Test Record Retention End Date: 7/24/2016 Page: 3 of 8 6.2 Pressure Plate and Snap Cover Assembly Table 4 provides the extrusions used in the pressure plate and snap cover assemblies. There was a continuous rubber thermal barrier (Part # PTB94) between each pressure plate and the adjacent frame member. Frame Member Head, sill, and jamb pressure plate Pressure plate cover 6.3 Table 4: Pressure Plate and Snap Cover Details Part # Material Description The pressure plate was attached to the adjacent frame member using a single row of 1/4-20 x 3/4” HH Type F 6063-T5 M4TB225 screws (Part # S362) spaced 50.8 mm (2”) from each Aluminum end and at 152.4 mm (6”) on center thereafter. Each fastener head was sealed using silicone sealant. 6063-T5 E4TB64 Face cover – snap-fit to the adjacent pressure plate Aluminum Glazing Details 6.3.1 Glazing Materials Glass Types GL1 through GL4 consisted of 25.4 mm (1”) thick (nominal) insulated glass comprised of the following components: 6.4 mm (1/4") tempered glass 12.7 mm (1/2”) air space 6.4 mm (1/4") tempered glass 6.3.2 Glazing Method The test specimen was exterior glazed. A 4.8 mm (3/16") thick EPDM setting block (Part # P6550) was used at the intermediate horizontals and a 7.9mm (5/16") thick EPDM setting block was used at the sill. Table 5 provides the interior and exterior glazing procedures (typical) used in the test specimen. A weep baffle (Part # PTB42) was used inside the horizontal pressure plate covers at each opening location. The rough opening allowed for a 12.7 mm (1/2”) shim space. Location Head Sill 8.0 Table 9: Test Specimen Installation Details Fastener Description The locking nut (Part # P1267) was attached to the shear block with two (2), 3/8-16 x 2" Type F (Part # S218) and drilled for pipe sleeve (Part # P2028) clearance. One (1), 3/8-16 x 2-1/2” HH screw with the pipe sleeve attached through the shear block to the opening. One (1), 3/8-16 x 2-1/2” HH screw and locking nut (Part # P1267) attached through the shear block to the opening. TEST SEQUENCE Table 10 provides a summary of the test sequence for the test specimen. Water Infiltration Test 9.2.1 Results Table 12 provides the results for the water infiltration test. Uniform Static Load Test 9.3.1 Deflection Gage Locations Figure 1 shows the deflection gage locations for the uniform static load test. The results are for the deflection gage locations shown in Section 9.3.1. The deflection reported is the overall deflection between three points (longest unsupported span) which accounts for support movement. All results obtained apply only to the specimen tested.
