In 1960 the Wrens celebrated their 21st birthday! They enter a float in the Lord Mayor’s show to celebrate! To their Reunion in the Festival Hall came the Queen Mother and Princess Marina of Kent their Chief Commandant! Top: Their then Director of Wrens ‘Dame’ Elizabeth Hoyer-Millar! Below: Royal Naval College, Greenwich with Wren Cadets! Travel to foreign parts! Included places like Malta, Gibraltar, and a few postings at NATO headquarters! A boat trip round the harbour! ‘Manuella’ the mascot of the island’s naval supply with some Wrens! Wrens plotting a pilotless plane’s progress – naval pilot sitting with them flies it by radio!
