Keynote Speakers
Cameron Bruett
Cameron Bruett heads the Corporate Affairs department at JBS USA, the U.S., Canadian, Mexican and
Australian subsidiary of JBS S.A., the world’s largest animal protein company. Cameron leads the company’s
sustainability and corporate communications efforts. A member of the JBS team since 2008, Cameron began
his tenure with the company managing government relations and industrial affairs in Washington DC.
Cameron currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef, the
Board of Directors of U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef and is the immediate Past President of the Global
Roundtable for Sustainable Beef. Cameron is originally from Omaha, Nebraska, and currently resides in
Greeley, Colorado.
KRistina Butts
Kristina is the Executive Director of Legislative Affairs for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association
Washington DC office. Kristina is an impassioned advocate for the cattle industry, because she grew up in
it, and understands the challenges of cattle producers across the nation. From her background in Texas, she
has worked both on and off the Hill on issues that affect all segments of our industry and all climates, terrains
and production practices that make up our varied operations. Kristina has been innovative in her approach
to connect Capitol Hill with innovative seminars and staff colleges that bring cow/calf producers, feeders,
veterinarians, animal scientists, and other beef industry professions to Washington to talk about complex issues.
Craig Uden
Craig Uden is a fourth-generation cattleman from Elwood, Neb., and has always been active in helping shape
the ever-challenging and changing beef industry. Craig is a partner in Darr Feedlot Inc., a commercial cattle
feeding operation in central Nebraska. Craig and his wife, Terri, also own and manage three commercial cowcalf operations. He has been involved with NCBA since the mid-1980s and has served on several committees
throughout the organization. Craig is currently serving as NCBA President Elect. Along with serving on
the Nebraska Beef Council, Craig has served on Nebraska Cattlemen’s Association Board of Directors as a
committee chairman and vice chairman, the Nebraska Cattlemens Research & Education Foundation, and
involved in Nebraska Feedlot Council.
Bob Ford
From July 1967 to July 1968, Bob Ford Flew over one thousand missions in Vietnam. His tour included the
beginning of the siege of Khe Sahn and the Tet Offensive in February 1968 when he and his men manned the
perimeter for a three-day and three-night ground attack. Ford made his commitment to flying helicopters
when he was still in college at the University of Oklahoma. He completed ROTC training and received a
commission in the US Army in 1966. He volunteered for army helicopter flight school and within one year
was flying combat in Vietnam. When he completed his tour in Vietnam, he became an instructor pilot at
Fort Wolters, Texas. Following his discharge in 1969, he moved to Okeene, Oklahoma, to head the Okeene
division of the family flour milling business, which he still actively manages.

Steve Glasgow
Steve Glasgow is a native Oklahoman, growing up on a farm in north central Oklahoma, and currently works
for the Natural Resources Conservation Service as the State Resource Conservationist located in Stillwater,
Oklahoma. He received his BS in Agriculture from OSU in 1989 and immediately went to work for NRCS
where he has worked in multiple locations and positions across Oklahoma including 13 years as State Grazing
Lands Specialist. In his current position Steve is head of the Ecological Sciences and Conservation Planning
division of NRCS in Oklahoma, where he oversees the agency’s technology development and transfer of
conservation practices critical to the management and sustainability of our natural resources.
Dr. Joe Bouton
Dr. Bouton served as Professor of Crop and Soil Sciences at the University of Georgia from 1977 to 2004 where
he taught undergraduate and graduate courses and conducted research in forage production, breeding and
genetics. He then became the Founding Director and Senior VP, Forage Improvement Division, at the Samuel
Roberts Noble Foundation, in Ardmore, Okla. until his retirement in 2012. He is now owner and manager of
Bouton Consulting Group, LLC. The main emphasis throughout Dr Bouton’s career was the development
and farmer use of forage and bioenergy cultivars. His current consulting efforts involve conducting on-farm
demonstrations to assess the value of inter-planting alfalfa into perennial grasses and conversion of toxic tall
fescue pastures with novel endophyte cultivars.
Heather Buckmaster
Heather Buckmaster grew up on a stocker cattle operation in Hydro, Oklahoma. She has a B.S. and M.S. in
Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University. Heather spent two years serving as a U.S. Peace
Corps Volunteer in The Gambia, West Africa. After graduate school, she spent more than seven years at the
Colorado Beef Council where she was responsible for advertising, producer media, foodservice, retail and
sports marketing programs. In 2005, Heather moved home to take the position of Executive Director for the
Oklahoma Beef Council. She feels honored to have opportunity to serve Oklahoma’s farming and ranching
families through their Beef Checkoff.
Cathy Kirkpatrick
Cathy Kirkpatrick is the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners
(OSBVME) and has been employed with the Board since 1997. Cathy was chosen by the 6 member Board of
Examiners and those members are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. The OSBVME
license and regulates veterinarians, technicians, euthanasia technicians, and non-veterinary reproductive and
equine dental individuals. The OSBVME mission is to protect the public from the unprofessional, improper,
incompetent and unlawful practice of veterinary medicine. Cathy is a native Oklahoman raised on a small
farm in Cleveland County.
Brett Morris
Brett is a third-generation dairy farmer and runs a dairy, cow/calf and stocker operation, as well as the
Washita Fertilizer Company, in partnership with his father. Their diversified farm operation, includes about
1,000 acres of alfalfa, wheat and grassland, 65 registered Holstein cows for milking, 100-125 beef cows, and
200 stocker calves. Brett was nominated to the Beef Board by the Dairy Farmers Of America, and has served as
chairman of the Oklahoma Dairy Commission, vice chairman of the Oklahoma Johne’s Advisory Committee,
and as vice chairman of the Oklahoma Beef Council, on which he has served since 2005. He previously served
on the checkoff’s Joint Retail Committee as a representative for the Federation of State Beef Councils, and was
president of the Oklahoma Holstein Association,
Roy lee Lindsey
Roy Lee Lindsey is the executive director of the Oklahoma Pork Council. He has been with okPORK since
December 1, 1998. He is responsible for managing the day to day operations of okPORK with emphasis on
public policy, public advocacy, and marketing. Lindsey is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with
degrees in Agricultural Communication and Agricultural Education. He lives in Yukon with his wife Melissa
and nine-year old daughter Elizabeth.

Rod Hall
Dr. Rod Hall currently serves as Oklahoma’s state veterinarian leading the Oklahoma Department of
Agriculture, Food and Forestry Animal Industry Services division. Under Dr. Hall’s leadership, the division
monitors livestock health diseases and is responsible for all regulations regarding livestock health issues such
as disease testing, livestock import/export rules and animal disease traceability.
Clay Burtrum
Clay Burtrum grew up on a cattle and swine farm in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Upon graduation from Oklahoma
State University, he worked for a major grain and cattle feeding company. He moved back to Stillwater
in 2000 to work for Farm Data Services (FDS), a specialized agriculture accounting firm specializing in
Managerial Accounting for farmers, ranchers, feedlots, and rural business as well as farm appraisal business,
cattle buying and crop insurance services. In partnership with is father, Clay has managed Burtrum Cattle
LLC, a stocker and cow-calf business, for 10 years. Clay is active in state and national beef leadership, serving
as current chairman of the Oklahoma Beef Council, 2nd year as Chairman Nutrition and Health Committee,
and 2nd year being elected as a member of the Beef Promotion Operating Committee.
Glenn Coffee
Glenn Coffee is a businessman, attorney and family man who was the first Republican in Oklahoma history
to serve as President Pro Tempore, the top leadership position in the Oklahoma State Senate. Coffee was also
the longest-serving Republican leader in the Senate. Coffee was selected by Governor Mary Fallin to run her
transition office and appointed as Oklahoma Secretary of State by Governor Mary Fallin in January, 2011 and
served until January 2013. First elected to the State Senate in 1998, Coffee quickly gained a reputation as a
leader and a reformer. In 2013, Coffee Started Glenn Coffee & Associates, a law firm focusing on government
ethics, campaign finance and government boards and commission work. Coffee lives in Oklahoma City with
his wife Lisa and their four children, sons Collin and Blaine and daughters Anna and Kate.

Representative Scott Biggs
Scott Biggs (R) was elected to represent Oklahoma District 51 in 2013. Scott has roots in agriculture and serves
as a strong advocate for the beef industry. He has served on several committes including: House Agriculture
and Rural Development; Natural Resources and Regulatory Services; House Criminal Justice and Corrections
and the House Public Safely Committee. He resides in Chickasha with his wife and young child.
Aaron Mahr
Aaron Mahr, a 14-year veteran of the National Park Service is the program manager for the Intermountain
Region’s National Trails System Program. Mahr is responsible for managing the National Trails System
program of the Intermountain Region, with offices in Salt Lake City and Santa Fe. The program provides
oversight for nine National Historic Trails (Santa Fe, Trail of Tears, El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, El
Camino Real de los Tejas, Old Spanish, Oregon, California, Pony Express, Mormon Pioneer), the Route 66
Corridor Preservation Program, and the Old Santa Fe Trail Building. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Spanish and a Masters in Latin American Studies from the University of New Mexico. Before beginning his
NPS career, he became a Ph.D. candidate in history while serving as an instructor at the University of New
Mexico, and a visiting professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez. Aaron and his wife Eva,
who teaches Spanish at the Santa Fe Community College, live in Albuquerque.
