The festivities in honour of
the Patron Saint, the Virgin

Jaime Apostle are the most

Benidorm. Five days with acts
such as the staging of the
finding of the Virgin, offerings
of flowers, celebration of the
tapestry, a final parade (old
town 6pm) of over 50 floats
and a huge fireworks display
on the beach.

“The full story”
Paco was 26 years old when he was running the first
British Pub in the Old Town, Vincents then was the
start of things to come and the Old Town of Benidom
welcomed the British visitors
after year it really hit off and was
the meeting place for the British
Penya this is where the Brits Fiesta
really started.
Later Vincent’s corner pubs
started with the Triangle in 1982
- Buddies in 1994 Churchill’s in
1997 and the White Horse 2001
after taking over the site which
was a Spanish restaurant, and the
same year came the Plaza that
was also previously a Spanish
Restaurant. Finally in 2002 came
the Village and also the Magic
Roundabout.
This achievement was really
something and having this
number of venues all in one town
and all following the same theme
British style pubs with a aim to
provide something for everyone,
free and easy atmosphere, family
entertainment, and the best value
across the whole of Benidorm.
Vincents corner pubs is really a
legend, hundreds of thousands of
families, couples and individuals
have enjoyed the unique
experience of Vincents time and
time again.
Why Vincents you might ask that was because Vincent
was the owner and Paco had leased the business in 1971
after working at Vincents for 7 years. Paco would work in
London for the winter and then return to Benidorm for
the summer.
Paco then started the fiestas in the pub providing the
Brits with the entertainment of the music men who
went around the old town during the fiestas so bringing
the atmosphere into Vincents pub. Paco would provide
drinks to the music men Coffee and Brandy after three
years this popular event became a annual event year

When we talked to Tad the
owner of the Yorkshire Pride
pubs he told us about his
experience of the British
Fiestas.
Tad started the Yorkshire
Pride 1 in 1994 and told us
that it was the Wooky Hollow
Bar who were the original bar
with their British visitors who
came for the fiestas it was
the older generation aged
50+ now we see the much
more the younger crowd are
joining in.
Tad in his first year in 1994
and had the spill over from
the Wooky Hollow, Tad was
overwhelmed with the
number of visitors each year
growing and growing seeing
the regular visitors who come
back year after year Tad said
they get home from Fiestas
and book for the next year.
He has had requests recently
from visitors who want to
come this year but Tad has
found that all the hotels and
flights are full.
The Town Hall have in recent
years agreed to close the road

JJ Dluxe Cars provided one

for the event that caught
most people’s eye. You could
hardly miss it because being
BIG PINK and LOUD!!
What a day and what a party!
VISTA were proud to host on
the day the reception party
for Geoff & Santos who were
married in Benidorm on the
same day, the wedding party
boarded the party bus at the
Rincon end of Levante Beach
where the Pride Parade was
set to start, a slight hitch
as we then found out that
the bus could not follow
the parade along the beach
but had to join in further
along at the Mediterreno.
So together with the
Penelope Disco Truck the
party started, our star
guest was the

The wedding party had a
fantastic time and the party
continued all night at the
Penelope Disco on the N332
where we witnessed a very
successful after party for
only the second Pride event
in Benidorm this was an
excellent turn out and gave
the organisers a massive
boost to build from for future
Pride events.
It is believed that the
Benidorm Pride event could
get to be one of the most
popular destinations in
Europe for this event and
certainly match those of
other European cities and
destinations.

Así, junto con el camión

empezó la fiesta. Nuestra
invitada estrella local fue
el homenaje a Lady Ga Ga
que estaba con nuestra
fiesta hasta su actuación
en el escenario del orgullo
2012.
Los invitados a la boda
lo disfrutaron a tope y la
fiesta continuó durante
toda la noche en la
discoteca Penélope en
la N332, donde fuimos
testigos de una fiesta
final de gran éxito. Para
el segundo evento del
Orgullo en Benidorm, fue
un gran éxito y le dio a
los organizadores un gran
impulso para continuar
con los futuros eventos del
Orgullo.
Se cree que el evento del
Orgullo Gay en Benidorm
podría llegar a ser uno de
los destinos más populares
de Europa para este
evento y sin duda igualar
a las otras ciudades y
destinos europeos.

Euro Clínica Rincón is an
independent medical diagnostic
centre. In 1998, this outpatient’s
clinic opened its doors in the
future heart of Benidorm,
diagonally across from the Hotel
Melia and right next to the Plus
supermarket. Since its inception,
our clinic has worked closely with
the Dutch General Practitioner’s
Association of Benidorm and the
surrounding areas.
Practically all medical specialities
are available in our outpatient’s
clinic. The centre offers a
complete package of highquality diagnostic tests, which
are available on demand and
performed within 24 hours,
without any waiting time.
Euro Clínica Rincón is an
Autonomous Treatment Centre
(in Dutch: ZBC), which means
that your health insurer covers
all treatment. The centre works
in association with both hospitals
in Benidorm and hospitals in
Alicante. It also cooperates with
the Amsterdam Diagnostics
Centre.
General Practice
A family doctor, also known as a
general practitioner or GP, does
not work in a hospital and is the
first port of call in the Netherlands
for people with health problems,
in the widest sense. The family
doctor treats around 90% of the
cases presented to him/her and
in the remaining 10% of cases,
refers the patient to another
doctor or social worker.
Dentist
Dentistry is the part of medicine
that deals with the treatment
of teeth and their surrounding
structures.
As
a
general
practitioner, the dentist must be
well acquainted with all aspects
of dentistry.
Radiology
Radiologists
are
physicians
who specialise in performing
examinations
and
making
diagnoses with the aid of x-rays or
other apparatus that make body
organs and tissues visible. The
radiologist can determine, using
x-rays or other examinations,
whether part of the body or an
organ is diseased or healthy. If the

treating the patient is unable to
say with certainty what is wrong,
he/she can have a “photo” (image)
made in conjunction with a
radiologist.
Gynaecology
Gynaecologists
focus
on
obstetrics and women’s health.
Specific areas of expertise of
our gynaecologist are urine
incontinence and prolapse.
He offers also a new methode
of quick sterilisation under
local anesthesia. In addition to
treating specific ailments, it is
recommended that women have
a regular check-up of the cervix (or
PAPsmear) and breastscreening.
Urology
Urology is the science that centres
on the study and treatment of
illnesses that may arise in the
kidneys and urinary tracts of
both men and women. Urologists
focus specifically on male sexual
organ disorders. Treatment by
a urologist may be medicinal,
surgical or a combination of both.
In addition to treating specific
ailments, it is recommended that
men over the age of 45 have a
yearly prostate check-up.
Orthopaedics
Orthopaedic surgeons focus
particularly
on
treating
abnormalities and disorders of
the locomotive apparatus. The
orthopaedic surgeon works
with broken limbs, posture
abnormalities and bone and
joint diseases, to the extent
these can be treated surgically,
e.g. with artificial hip or knee
replacements.
Internal Medicine
Internists focus on the disorders
of the internal organs. Some
specific characteristics are unique
to internal medicine. For example,
symptoms in a particular organ
may easily be the result of
reduced functioning in another
organ. That forces the internists
to carefully determine the
characteristics of a symptom and
make what is called a differential
diagnosis -i.e. a list of diagnoses
that match a specific combination
of symptoms.
Neurology
Neurology is the name of the
medical speciality that deals with
diseases of the brain, spinal cord
and nerves. A neurologist also
often treats muscular disorders.
Cardiology
Cardiology is the medical
speciality that focuses on tracing,
diagnosing and treating heart
disease. For this purpose, the
cardiologist carries out a number
of tests, the most important being
the pulse rate, blood pressure,
ECG (electrocardiograph), heart
echography and stress test.
Dermatology
Dermatology is the medical
speciality that focuses on
disorders of the skin, nails
and hair, collectively called
dermatological diseases. The
diagnosis of dermatological
diseases mostly involves an initial
examination, followed by a case
history or anamnesis, which is
often very important. Further
tests are sometimes necessary.
These may involve blood tests
or microscopic testing of a small
sample of the affected skin.

The surgeon treats injuries,
tumours and infections mainly

traumatology, vascular surgery,

transplant surgery.
Psychiatry
Psychiatry is the field of medicine

(psychopharm) as a means of
treatment. The application of
psychotherapy also falls under
this field.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapists provide advice,
treat and monitor symptoms
relating to muscles, bones and

apparatus) with the aim of
achieving the best possible
recovery of movement and/or
function.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient
Chinese art, used to treat a large
variety of ailments, promote
health and relieve pain and
suffering. The treatment involves
sticking thin needles into the skin
at specific points of the body. This
stimulates the nerve endings and
has a healing effect. Where the
needles are placed depends on
why you are having acupuncture.

irrespective of whether this is the
result of a disorder, there is an
