High-resolution decor data for all EGGER collections form the basis of the digital solutions. EGGER has
invested in its own decor processing systems and workstations. Up to 150 GB of data may be required
for a single decor.
In an elaborate colour management process, the decor and image data are prepared for various output
media such as print media for marketing activities, colour-calibrated screens, high-resolution projector
presentations and for production using digital printing and the gravure printing process.

The EGGER Digital Solutions
Virtual Design Studio VDS HD 2.0 is part of an integrated strategy presented
by EGGER under the motto “Think without Limits”. Now EGGER is offering
boundless design and visualisation flexibility as a customisable and open
customer version.
The digital solutions were first presented at
the ZOW in Bad Salzuflen in February 2010.
Instead of isolated digital solutions, EGGER
is currently implementing an integrated cycle
from decor development to visualisation and
all the way to production.
This comprehensive and integrated
approach will speed up the process from the
initial concept to implementation while also
improving the quality of service.
“It is only with these solutions that
producing the small batch series made
possible by digital printing becomes
economically viable,” says Hubert Höglauer,
Head of Marketing EGGER Group.
Thanks to the visualisation possibilities
offered by Virtual Design Studio, customers
are also able to make a pre-selection. Wellinformed decor decisions can be made on
this basis.

IMAGINATION. IN ORDER TO HELP YOU VISUALISE THE
EFFECTS OF DECORS IN YOUR OWN ROOM IMAGES, WE
ARE NOW OFFERING THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB: THE
CUSTOMISABLE VDS HD CUSTOMER VERSION.
The Virtual Design Studio has been used for decor
presentations at seven EGGER plants to date.
Now EGGER is offering you an open, customisable
system.
The standard software with all of the EGGER
standard decors – approximately 600 of them –
in the flooring and wood-based material sectors
along with a colour palette for wall colours forms
the foundation. These can be inserted into various
room situations for private and commercial
applications.
The standard EGGER decor data and room images
are available as free updates.
With the enhanced image service function, you
can upload your own room and furniture images
directly in your VDS HD system. In addition, thirdparty decors and materials can be entered into this
system in addition to the EGGER data.
In order to make VDS HD appear as your personal
version, your own logo can be integrated instead of
the EGGER logo.

HD 2.0 customer packages for you. The
standard software is tailored to the technical
components being offered. As a result, we
recommend selecting the VDS HD packages
exclusively in combination with the hardware
offered by us. This is the only way we can
guarantee optimum quality.

The three customer packages will be available starting
in January 2011.

Your own room image in the VDS HD
image service
With the integrated image service, you can
upload your own room or furniture image
to your VDS HD programme. Identify the
desired decor surfaces and add a reference
dimension to furniture (height and width,
respectively) in order to guarantee accurate
decor rendering in terms of detail and scale.
The room image with markings is submitted
directly to our technology partner, active
online, for processing.
