At our One Church service on
May 1st we took up a collection
for Convos Youth Zone, a youth
drop-in center in Beamsville
where Brad Cook works as the
director. We are delighted to
share with you that $1889.35
was raised at our worship service. Thank-you for your support of the such a great ministry. Contact Brad at

GL Community Service Day - This year it will be on
May 17. Is there anyone available to supervise 4 GL
students here at the building? Email Margaret and let

Amherst Church of Christ - Amherst has organized a
fundraising night at Denny's Restaurant (across from
the Boulevard Mall) on Monday May 23 between 4
and 10 pm. 20% of the pre-tax proceeds from each
meal (from anyone in the restaurant that night) will
go towards Great Lakes Christian High School. A poster is on the bulletin board outside the offices.
11th Annual Celebration of Sisterhood - The theme
this year is "Girl, You Go This!" The speaker will be
Diana Johnson of Barrie, ON. For all the details see the
poster on the bulletin board outside the offices.
Golf Tournament - All golfers are welcome to the
May 28 Golf Tournament on May 28 8:30 am at Knollwood Golf Club. The cost is $140 which includes 18
holes of golf, cart, lunch and a donation to Great
Lakes. The event will fund scholarships provided by
the GLCHS Alumni Association. For further details
there is a poster on the bulletin board outside the offices.
From the Education Committee - We
are in need of teachers and/or helpers
for the summer quarter for the following classes: Cradle Roll: Teacher, Kindergarten: Teacher, August only. If you
are able to help with any of these classes speak to either Jeremy, Jodie or
Margaret.
Wedding News:
There was an announcement of an upcoming wedding made at the Spring pot luck
celebration, but many of you were away, so
Marty and Colleen are happy to announce
to our Church family that Paul is engaged
to Emma Atkinson, the lovely young lady
whom you have probably seen sitting with
us in Church. The wedding day is set for
August 13. You will be seeing more of Emma, and she looks forward to getting to
know you all. As always, your prayers for
them as they plan their life together are
greatly appreciated.

Bible Day Camp Volunteer Registration - Did you know that volunteers can also register for
BDC? Go to www.groupvbspro.com/VBS/HL/TINTERN and click on volunteer. Fill out the form and
viola you're done. Participants can also use this link to register.
Bible Day Camp - Plans are under way. We can use your help in collecting some supplies. Margaret is requesting that you save your wire hangers (need 200) and empty (clean) Campbell's soup
cans (the 10 oz size, need 80).
Bible Day Camp Work Bees - Want to have a good time? We are always looking for all the help that
we can get as we start decorating and putting together items needed for Bible Day Camp. Any help is
appreciated! If you can help out (doesn't have to be each time or all day either), please let Margaret
know and we'll be all ready for you ([email protected]).
