Early Years Stars
Early Years Stars \ We are back with another newsletter which promises to get you closer to your child's life in school which is full of explorations and pleasant surprises. This week all our engagements revolved around “Aquatic animals”. Our Early Year's stars have been extremely excited about the stations that have been set in our class , it is a pleasure to see our children run up to the apron corner , grab & wear the aprons and run to one of their favourite stations “the water station” or “the art “More water pleeeeaasssssseeeeee” station “ . Our water play corner is well equipped with plastic ducks and fish toys, which keep the children involved, they love to float the toys or pour more water on the plastic fan and see the water flowing down to the tub or just go “splashhhhhh”. “Enjoying water play” The shining stars love to paint and what better opportunity than this , that they get a whole corner/station to themselves which has different kinds of accessories like sponge & brushes and also variety of colours .All these engagements allow learning and development to happen more effectively and in a play way method. During circle time our children love to do actions like “swim like a fish “or “jiggle like a jelly fish “ or wriggle like an octopus”,they also take turns to sing their favourite rhyme or song during circle time . The puppet show depicting different animals and their sounds was done throughout the week and the story “Brown Bear Brown Bear What do you See” by Eric Carle was enjoyed by all. The new rhymes done this week are “1, 2, 3, 4, 5 once I caught a fish alive” & “roli poli roli poli up, up, up” “Let’s Dance Dance Dance Dance Dance” “Painting my World” Our little ones were enthusiastic to make the fish puppets in which they painted with their fingers and placed “bindis” to show the fish’s eye. We also painted a sea and pasted different kinds of aquatic animals in a group. The group work helps the toddlers to develop social skills and we feel happy to see the young ones negotiating their way out while working in a group. Our children also look forward to scribble on the slates with chalk which is one of the best exercises to develop their fine motor skills and also prepare their little fingers to write in future. “Making the fish puppet” “And we made our own Sea” “Chalk & Slate” “These are a few of my favourite things” Hope you and your family have a great & relaxed weekend.
