Target Audience:
COURSE AGENDA
Cardiovascular Surgeons, Cardiologists, Primary Care Physicians and
Nurses
Friday, May 16, 2014
This one-day symposium will familiarize the Cardiovascular Surgeon,
Cardiologist, Primary Care Physician and Nurse with new state-of-theart-catheter-based therapies for the treatment of senile degenerative calcific aortic valve stenosis. Following completion of this course, the participant will clearly understand who are candidates for this revolutionary new
treatment modality for valvular heart disease. A live case presentation of
a valve implant will illustrate the technical aspects of the procedure as
well as the potential pitfalls and advantages of new catheter-based valve
therapies.
AT THE CONCLUSION OF THIS ACTIVITY PARTICIPANTS
SHOULD BE ABLE TO:
1.
Identify the current treatment options for patients with severe aortic
stenosis.
2.
Review patient selection process for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
3.
Describe the outcome data relating to the safety and efficacy of
transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
