The 6th Edition of Jaffna International Trade Fair was held on
January
Municipal Ground, Jaffna Sri Lanka and was organized by Lanka Exhibition &
Services (Pvt) Ltd. [LECS].

The 2015 exhibition was inaugurated by Hon. A. Natarajan, Consul General, Consulate General of
India, Jaffna and the Chairman Northern Provincial Council Mr. C.V.K Sivagnanam, President,
Chamber of Commerce & Industries of Yarlpanam Mr. K. Vignesh, Founder Chairman, Jaffna
International Trade Fair Mr. Kosala Wickramanaike, and other executives of Chamber of
Commerce and Industry of Yarlpanam were present on the occasion.
Everyone that participated for this year’s exhibition including
local & foreign business delegates and the people of Jaffna was
satisfied with this massive trade exhibition which is a rare event
that takes place in this part of the Island. While contributing
towards the government’s action plan to speed-up the
development process in the North & East of Sri Lanka.
Three day event showcased over 190 companies participating with 267 stalls including foreign
companies displaying their products and services to a visitor base of approximately 50,000. The
event was Organized in association with the Chamber of Commerce & Industries of YarlpanamCCIY, Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Sri Lanka-FCCISL and supported by Sri
Lanka Convention Bureau-SLCB, Jaffna Municipal Council, Consulate General of India Jaffna.
Endorsed by Sri Lanka Export Development Board-EDB, Ministry of Traditional Industries & Small
Enterprise Development, National Enterprise Development Authority-NEDA.
India participated in the Fair as the “Partner Country” for the 6th consecutive year with the able
support of the High Commission of India & Consulate General of India – Jaffna.
The inauguration was organized at the Jaffna Public Library premises, Consul General of India
explained the various Indian projects that are being undertaken for rehabilitation and
reconstruction in the Northern Province during his address.
The Ministry of Industries & Commerce participated in a big way as a pavilion to showcase their
products / services of small & medium industrialists.
The other ministries who participated are The Ministry of Economic Development, Sri Lanka
Tourism Board, Board of Investment, Ministry of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise
Development, National Design Centre, Palmyra Development Board and the Northern Provincial
Council and Department of Agriculture.

Concurrent Events at the JITF 2015...
NCE connects Exporters in the South with Producers in the North at Jaffna
International Trade Fair
The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE), the only private sector Chamber exclusively
serving exporters of Sri Lanka, conducted a program related to the above on 24th January at the Jaffna
Library Auditorium.
The main objective of the programmed was to connect the exporters in the South with the producers
in the North. This event was conducted Local Empowerment for Economic Development (LEED), under
the NCE – International Labour Organization (ILO) collaboration which is funded by AUSAID. In this
regard the NCE has partnered with the Chamber of Commerce and Industries of Yarlpanam (CCIY) to
expand activities under the project.
