The Bella Vista Village Property Owners Association hosted the 2015 Camo Classic golf tournament on Saturday, September 5th on its Berksdale course. Next year, the tournament may encompass two or more courses. The Camo Classic was a four person scramble which allowed members and guests the opportunity to show support for the Folds of Honor Foundation. The foundation supports the families of fallen and injured United States soldiers. Forty dollars of each team's entry fee went to the Folds of Honor Foundation in addition to the funds from collection jars at each pro shop. Last year, the event successfully raised nearly $1,250. This year, the event raised over $3,200 and catered to 160 golfers. Congratulations to Tom Prout, who won the SNAG chip off Bridgestone USA Staff bag! Courtyard Marriott of Bentonville provided breakfast and gourmet coffee. Gusano's Pizza showed their support by providing pizza, and Johnny Carino's pitched in by providing sides and dessert. For more information about the Camo Classic or to sign up for next year's event, e-mail [email protected] or call 479-855-5079. Change can be frightening; change can be exciting, change can result in self examination, change can create opportunities! We can all identify with these and other effects of change. Your Property Owners Association is now facing change with the departure of our General Manager; this affects our membership, our employee leadership and their respective teams. Your Board is working tirelessly with POA staff to limit the impact this change has on our members. We are meeting on a regular basis to gather information and make operating decisions during this interim period while looking for a new leader. The Search for a new General Manager: Many members have wondered (and offered advise) how we will, or should begin the search process for our new General Manager. After much discussion and with the best interests of the MEMBERSHIP as a guiding principle your Board has entered into an agreement with GSI Executive Search to assist with the identification, recruitment and hiring of a General Manager. GSI has partnered with many “like” organizations seeking qualified leadership. Why did we agree to work in concert with a Search Firm? While your board members bring vast experience from a variety of disciplines, as a collective we do not possess the expertise needed to find the BEST candidates to direct your amenity Discover the secrets of Wine’s Nutritional Power Get your copy by visiting sbprabooks.com/ajmorrisjr (479) 544-8842 • [email protected] based association. We gathered input from other POA organizations relative to their experiences when faced with similar circumstances. We looked at the time it would take us to navigate the vetting process alone or in tandem with a search firm. We looked at the cost associated with a tandem approach as it related to a new hire. After these and other considerations, taking into account all factors of time, expense, membership and staff leadership needs, we determined that partnering with a search firm is in the Bella Vista Property Owners Association’s BEST interest. One benefit of change is the opportunity of our leadership to look at policies and procedures from a different perspective. This can have a very positive impact on the manner in which we operate your amenities. I would like to give my thanks to Tommy Bailey, who has contributed much to our community in his time here, I wish him the best moving forward. Who has the best GOLF GROUP in Bella Vista? I am proud to announce the CHAIRMAN’S CUP!; a team competition to determine bragging rights for the next year. This competition will crown an overall team champion, a ladies team champion and a men’s team champion. This new event should be a great way to showcase your golf group.
