What does it take to create a brand that resonates with beauty and sensuality in the hearts and minds of women all around the world?

In the case of DYRBERG/KERN A/S, it took two such individuals from two extremely different backgrounds; each with a distinctive angle
on design who were drawn to each other as if by destiny.
The moment Gitte Dyrberg and Henning Kern met, their unique chemistry and creative energy was instantly apparent. As the Creative
Directors, design masterminds and driving forces behind, DYRBERG/KERN A/S is today – 25 years later - a brilliant contemporary
designer jewellery and watch brand, which never ceases to intrigue and entice consumers. Their mission is clear: To be a preferred
choice for modern and confident women to express their style and beauty.
How? By offering an extensive and inventive range of iconic classics and a sultry approach to style and sophistication. A fascination with
art, architecture, interior, design, graphics, nature, film and music has influenced Dyrberg and Kern’s ability to continuously surprise and
seduce consumers infatuated with their brand.

handmade jewellery
All DYRBERG/KERN design is managed from our design studio at our headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, where a skilled team of
designers sketch the collections. After the seasonal fashion themes, trends and seasonal materials and colours are decided and each
jewellery style is determined, the production takes place in various work-shops in Asia, where manufacturers produce the collection
according to our design and quality standards.
Our materials, such as pearls, stones, crystals and leather are sourced all over the world, from Italy, China or Africa, depending on the season.
DYRBERG/KERN products are created by hand and undergo many different processes: from casting, polishing and plating of the metal
base, to hand braiding of leather, to cutting, polishing, and insertion of precious stones and brilliant crystals. Finally the many different
elements of one single jewellery piece are assembled. After each process, a specific quality control is performed.
Each jewellery piece goes through about 40 different processes and as many hands before the magical moment finally happens
– it meets your eye and love hopefully takes over...
We consider the environment
All DYRBERG/KERN’s products are strictly following both Danish and international laws concerning heavy metals, such as Nickel, Lead,
Mercury and Cadmium. Further to that all DYRBERG/KERN’s suppliers are signing a Code of Conduct, and they are randomly being inspected by our local staff during production. This for making sure that we only deal with suppliers whom have focus on CSR (Corporate
Social Responsibility). Why? Because we set pride in being responsible, caring and non-selfish about the way we do business.

An interesting pendant looks great on any leather string, metal
chain, or beaded strings.
Note that the best pendants are often motif pendants and

Babylonian goddess of fertility, love, war and sex.
Ishtar was the protector of the dancers, singers and
courtesans of the temple.

The Mythical collection is divided into satellites and can be combined in an easy way to create a simple look.
Each satellite can be styled separately, but the satellites can also be mixed. The satellites can be mixed with additional
styles such as Pearls & Beads, Leather, Jokers, Icons and Loose chains. For the satellites which do not have a storytelling
poster to be displayed with, use an A5 showcard instead.
THE GUIDELINE PRINCIPLES ARE:
• Each satellite can be styled in both silver and gold on the same birch veneer sheet.
• Mixed satellites must only be styled in either silver or gold on the same birch veneer sheet.
• Both sunglasses and watches must be shown separately, not integrated in the collection.
• Limited number of styles per logo sheet (max 10 -14 styles).
• The jewellery must be shown lying flat. This way of styling gives a good and simple overview of the collection.
• Keep straight lines when placing the plexi and the small birch veneer sheets on the large birch

BASE METAL AND PLATINGS
The Stainless Steel Line
We all know stainless steel for its unique qualities. It will not corrode, does not tarnish and is extremely durable. Stainless steel is also
extremely strong, meaning it will not bend or weaken. Jewellery and watches produced in stainless steel stay nice and shiny for a long
time and are practically resistant to wear and tear. As a jewellery material stainless steel is a rather non traditional, and thereby seen as
a natural choice for our modern contemporary jewellery collection.

The Brass Line
The base metal of most of our jewellery is brass, which is an alloy of copper and zinc. Adding aluminum makes brass stronger and more
corrosion resistant. We use brass as our base metal for our jewellery for its unique properties. Freshly polished brass is similar to gold in
appearance, but becomes more reddish within days of exposure to the elements, which is why a top plating process is required. Brass
receives the top plating in stainless steel. Brass is nickel and lead free and anti-allergenic.

The IP Plating
Most of our plating is the highly technical IP plating technique which is normally used in the watch industry.
IP or ion plating in technical terminology is more stable than wet-plating, because it is not so much affected by fluctuation of precious
metals. Exposed to oxygen, all non-precious metals (including silver) will tarnish. This is why we Ion plate. Depending on climatic conditions
and how the jewellery piece is being worn, the plating gradually goes off – we call it wear and tear. Colour change or tarnishing of the IP
plating rarely happens. By using IP instead of traditional wet-plating, it takes much longer before the colored plating wears off and the base
metal is visible. It is hard to give an estimate about the durability – it depends on how and where the jewellery piece is being worn.

chaton that we use in abundance. The crystals are either crystal clear, solid coloured, or effect coated to imitate natural

Pearls
Among our Pearls and Beads styles we feature man-made pearls with a close resemblance to natural pearls. A bead
with an glass core has been coated with a special paste, made out of natural mother-of-pearl for their iridescence.
This coating process is repeated six times until a multitude of fine layers is formed over the core to build up the
density and color uniformity. The pearls are coloured in this seasons colours light brown, grey and cream white and
polished by hand to remove imperfections – that’s why our pearls are always perfectly matched and round-shaped –
if not baroque….

Always use a purse – Using a cover when you are not wearing your
eyewear is essential in order to protect your investment.
Cleaning – Never clean your eyewear with paper towels, tissue
products and especially not your clothes. To avoid scratching your

Avoid extreme heat – Excessive heat and cold can cause eyewear to
warp over time. If you are going to leave your eyewear in the car, keep
