Many fantastic record book trophy animals were hunted and all our hunting guests were able to complete their packages in full for all the animals they wished to hunt. The prospects for 2015 look wonderful with the ever increasing game numbers on our ranches, we are looking for a great year with numerous great trophy animals being spotted regularly! Our newly renovated lodge has seen many new additions this past year which have all been met with great enthusiasm from our old clients who see our changes that have taken place over the years. The just added new swimming pool at the East Cape Safaris Lodge will be a welcomed sight as well as relief for those visiting during the warmer months. So do not forget to pack the swimsuits!!! Above we have Jim Greenfield of Washington State with his great 42 inch buffalo and then with a magnificent 45 inch sable we have Capt Mac Gable from Texas which will be the new pending SCI #1 or #2 bow kill for Sable Antelope. **Guaranteed 5star service at the guaranteed lowest prices ** Page 2 Clayton and Franca, from New York City once again visited East Cape Safaris early on in the 2014 season and amongst other trophies hunted this beautiful roan antelope, pictured left. Scott and Sherri Albertson completed their 4th safari with East Cape Safaris and added a beautiful eland trophy to his collection. Pictured left are Matt and Judy who returned for their 2nd safari with new friends Raul and Luanne Chavez all from Denver Colorado. Amongst the trophy animals was this waterbuck Judy hunted, Matt with his huge eland bull hunted at Kruisementfontein. Raul is pictured below with his gemsbok and Luanne with Raul with a beautiful Impala trophy Luanne hunted. From Colorado came old friend Gene Nelson and this time Kathy accompanied Gene on a great safaris enjoyed by all. Gene was able to hunt numerous trophies and this blue wildebeest was one of the beautiful animals hunted. Dwight and Evan Engwall visited for a second safari and had great success with numerous trophy animals hunted; right they are pictured with Evan’s blue wildebeest shot at the Kruisementfontein Ranch. EAST CAPE SAFARIS Page 3 Colorado Hunters enjoy East Cape Safaris Rich and Georgiana Weimer visited East Cape Safaris for their 7th Safari and on this special trip Rich hunted for his priority animals being buffalo and sable while Georgiana did some hunting of her own. Two special trophy animals for two very special people who have contributed much to the success of East Cape Safaris. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Left we have Georgiana with a couple of nice springbuck rams she was able to hunt among other animals she took and above left Rich with his Cape Buffalo and top right Rich and his beautiful sable trophy. Also from Colorado came old friend Bob Schofield who brought Dr Chris Michael and son Jake on their first African Safari. What a great time was had by all and Chris and Jake were able to hunt numerous beautiful trophy animals while Bob also got in on the hunting with a great lechwe pictured 2nd from top right. Below that is Jake with a very good kudu trophy with dad Chris below with a good warthog. Looking forward to the next safari with you both!! Two more special visitors came from Colorado and for their first safari to Africa East Cape Safaris were honoured to have been chosen as the choice outfit. Warren Brown had long dreamed of fulfilling his Fathers dream of hunting buffalo in Africa and he sure did just that on a hunt that was thorough and most successful with a one shot kill. Connie was by Warrens side and we all enjoyed her “pink African” dance renditions!!! Thus so many more very special friends that East Cape Safaris have been honoured in making and memories of a lifetime for all. EAST CAPE SAFARIS Page 4 They came from New York; New Jersey, Pennsylvania !! From New Jersey Ted and Suzanne Lygas returned for their 2nd safari and this time brought Rick Sebolt with for his 1st Safari. Many fantastic trophy animals were hunted and above we have Ted with a 44 inch gemsbuck, Suzanne with her 24 inch Impala and Rick with a 42 inch gemsbuck. Below Left we have the Forrest Family from Pennsylvania; Henry has visited 3 times and this year brought Ted Senior with boys Teddy and Alex. From we have Alex with a fallow stag, below that Henry with his black wildebeest, then to the right we have Teddy with a great impala and Ted Sn. With his Zebra. Right with a magnificent kudu trophy we have Steve and Luanne Strickler who visited from PA. Congrats Steve on some beautiful animals hunted at East Cape Safaris. After two years of planning Jim Whitecomb, Kendyl Rice and Brian King arrived for their long awaited safari. Some great trophy animals were taken including a giraffe that Brian hunted for with his 416 Ruger. Below we have Kendyl with a massive 141/2 inch springbuck, Brian with a 50 inch kudu and Jim with a beautiful bushbuck with Tjotsi the jackrussel who help retrieve this beautiful bushbuck. The photo of Jim and his bushbuck also won our in house photo competition for 2014. Page 5 More hunters from the great state of Colorado From Colorado came the Coleman’s and Miller’s for a family vacation to South Africa. A fabulous time was had by all with these wonderful families and the hunting went very well. Pictured above from left to right we have Dennis with his good springbuck trophy, then Richard with one of his kudu trophies and then Sam with his blue wildebeest. Amber got in on the action and was able to get this good bushpig on her first attempt! Numerous other trophy and non trophy animals were hunted over the 10 day safari. Below from Left to Right we have the Weller brothers from Illinois and Sammy pictured below hunted various animals and this impala was amongst the many good trophies he hunted, Bill got a great East Cape Kudu and many more other species. Fantastic time was had by all and Sammy was a great example to all! Thanks Bill and Sammy! Also from Illinois came James Stewart and on this 2nd safari he was able to get many more species which included this very good bushbuck. Returning for their second safari were the Gable brothers who this time were accompanied by their wonderful wives Lisa and Dayna. Both Capt Mac and Jim were able to add a few more great trophy animals to their collection with the highlight being Capt Mac’s huge sable bow kill. EAST CAPE SAFARIS Page 6 Dedicated to our dear Claude: sends his final group from Idaho Claude Morisch, pictured right, from Idaho sadly pasted away this year after a battle with cancer. Claude was loved by all who knew him and over the last 5 years has very generously sent and paid for 14 hunters to visit and hunt with East Cape Safaris. This year the Christiansen’s (Rick, Gary & Bryan), Jennifer Spencer, Abby Patterson, Lonnie Smith, Quinn Erikson and grandson Anthony Leonard. A great safari was had by all and Claude was kept in touch via a couple of phone calls while the safari was taking place. The loving memory of Claude Morisch will be remembered forever, rest in peace Claude Morisch and THANK YOU DEAR FRIEND!! EAST CAPE SAFARIS Page 7 Washington State hunters have a great time at ECS Our special friends from north of Seattle visited again with wives Pam and Alison , and with them Robert and Susan Pahlow, Rich Link and Gina McNaughton. A great Safaris Tour was had by all the non hunters while Bill and Tom went hunting for many new species they had not hunted on their first safari. Bill pictured above left with a great nyala and then with Tom some springbuck and then Tom with his lovely copper springbuck. Below we have new friends from Washington, father son combination of Gene and Chris Wentworth who took one of our Management Trophy packages, an enjoyable safari was had by all involved and we look forward to another visit. Bruce Stuwe from Olympia Washington visited for his 2nd safari with priority animal being the great Cape Buffalo, pictured below is Bruce with a truly beautiful Cape Buffalo he hunted very successfully with a one shot kill. Below right we have Steve and Karla Muehlhausen also from Washington who visited for their first African Safari with East Cape Safaris and among their animals they hunted were these two beautiful Kudu trophy bulls, a truly great pair for a “his and hers” on one of Africa’s most sought after trophies. Above right we have from New Zeeland Don Adams who with his wonderful wife Bridget visited for a safari with East Cape Safaris, a very enjoyable time was had by all and Don & Bridget were a breath of fresh air in Camp. Don was able to hunt a few species and all the animals were of great quality. We look forward to seeing you both soon again. To end our season we completed a great safari at our new Ikamva Lodge with visitors from France. The Canivez and Du Bois Families visited for a 7 day safari which was great fun and the hunting was fantastic with many great trophies being hunted; below from left we have Antoine with a good impala, then Valery with a greet 52 inch kudu trophy, then a huge and magnificent eland bull hunted by David which measure 39.5 inches, a truly huge eland bull. Both Families enjoyed the option of a lovely aeroplane trip around the ranches as well as around the town of Somerset East in a Saratoga based on the ranch.
