DECA Buy a Yearbook Today! It's that time of the year again! DECA has begun!! In September we began lunch meetings and had great turn out. New members may join in until November 9, 2016. See the attached flyer for deadlines for purchasing, senior ads and senior photos. Don't forget to purchase the 2016-2017 yearbook today. It is an amazing publication. Please email Derek Kahler at [email protected] if you have any questions. During Homecoming Spirit Week, DECA will host 'Penny Wars', a class competition where pennies are worth positive points and all other currency is worth negative points. For example, if a Senior puts 400 pennies in the Senior Jar, they now have 400 points, and let's say they turn around and put 3 dollar bills in the Sophomore Jar, the Sophomores now have negative (-) 300 point. The class who wins will receive points towards the Spirit Class Competition. The winners will be announced in next month's newsletter. Tutoring Credit Post Falls HS offers several courses where students can earn credit by helping tutor other students. Tutors can work in the high school with peers, in an elementary school, or in a special need classroom. Tutors work in small groups or one-on-one settings within a classroom to provide support for students struggling in an academic area. It requires strong aptitude in the subject area, patience, compassions, and an encouraging personality. Here is an example of the great work that tutors do at PFHS: “I want to thank you for the high quality tutors… A, L, and B are enthusiastic, wanting to work with kids and seem to be naturals at it. They really interact well with the elementary students!” Please see your counselor if interested.
