REGULATIONS FOR THE EXHIBITION H H H H H
A 'bona fide' Cottage Gardener or Allotment Holder is a person not employing any
professional assistance in the cultivation of his or her garden, nor working for any
other person as a gardener, assistant or market gardener.
The exhibits in the classes described must be grown by the person competing,
except for Floral Art and Children's Classes.
Entry fee 50p per exhibit, except Floral Art which is £1 per exhibit.
Children’s classes are free.
Entries close at the times shown on the entry form.
Staging
No exhibitor is allowed to stage more than two exhibits in any one class.
Exhibits may be staged on Saturday from 3pm to 7pm and on Sunday from 7am to
10am
Staging of exhibits will not be permitted after 10:00 am when the marquee will be
closed for judging.
Exhibitors must bring their own vases, boxes and trays.
Exhibitors should name their exhibits where possible.
Judging
Judging will be according to the latest edition of the horticultural Handbook of
the Royal Horticultural Society.
The decision of the judges shall be final. If the judges deem an exhibit not of
sufficient merit they may recommend that prizes be withheld or reduced.
Points towards trophies 1st 3 points, 2nd 2 points, 3rd 1 point.
No exhibits may be removed or sold before 4:30pm.
Prize money will be paid in the marquee after 4:00pm If not claimed by 5:00pm
Exhibitors must apply to the section secretary for same.
All disputes will be settled by the section committee. Any person wishing to make
an objection must do so to the section secretary before 3:00pm and must deposit
£5.00, which will be returned if the objection is sustained.
Right to inspect exhibitors garden. In order to be satisfied that the conditions of
entry are fulfilled, the committee reserve the rights to visit by appointment,
before or after a show, gardens from which plants flowers or vegetables have
been entered for competition.
The committee shall not be held responsible for the losses arising from any cause,
but will use all reasonable care whilst exhibits are in their charge.

YOUR SAFETY – Please Read This
GENERAL
The Showground is a field - it is uneven. Please watch your footing if it is wet.
Near to food concessions be aware of hot surfaces and people carrying hot food and drink.
In the sun please be aware of sunburn (especially children).
On arrival and departure please be aware of moving vehicles. Your safety is just as much your
responsibility as the driver’s.
Please do not leave pets unattended in cars on the Car Park, especially on hot days.
MAJOR INCIDENTS
It has never been necessary to evacuate the show field due to a major incident - but if this becomes
necessary please follow the directions given on the Public Address system and the directions of the
show staff.
