Encouragement
Hi challenge par2cipants! I trust all of you have kept up with your reading, and are ready for chapter two and "Doing Your Carbs Right." My husband and I have been fascinated by some of the things we've learned in this first chapter; and we are looking forward to the next. We only wish we were be;er equipped with this type of informa2on while we were raising our children. We both agree that, if we s2ll had children at home, we'd be reading these chapters with them. Fortunately, our grandchildren can s2ll benefit from the changes we are making.
If you haven't kept up with your reading, now's your chance. You won't be disappointed. There is too much good informa2on to just skip ahead.
It's 2me to complete your survey and begin tracking weeks three and four during Phase Two. Don't give up! If you do no more than read the book and implement one change, you'll be doing more than when you started.
Wishing you success!

Thanks for not giving us figures about how many work hours are lost each school year for medical issues that could be solved by being more careful with what we eat!
The reminders are important.

Health Screenings and
BodyAge Assessments
Saturday, June 2, 12
“I felt terrible, and was in a great deal of pain. I did not feel good about myself and the way that I physically felt. I par8cipated in the “Polar Age” check in the Fall and learned that my polar age was eight years older than my actual age. I learned that by decreasing my weight by 10% I could add 5 years to my life.
To date, I have lost 26 lbs. (more than 10% of my original body weight). I am feeling be0er physically, and be0er about myself.”

Walking Our Way to Wellness
Saturday, June 2, 12
“This step challenge has really helped mo8vate me to get moving and back on a healthy track. So far I have lost 12 pounds, but more importantly, when I had my annual physical exam a week ago, my blood pressure was 110/70 (and I have high blood pressure), and my cholesterol was also great.” Saturday, June 2, 12
Walking for a Cause
Saturday, June 2, 12
“I no8ce that several of my coworkers are excited about the shared ac8vi8es of being ac8ve, sharing healthy food ideas, etc. There is a climate of lightheartedness. There is more laughter. Whatever people are doing we need to keep it going.”
