You may then put the first person on hold while you answer the second call. Allows important calls to get through even when you are on the phone. This group of Custom Calling Features can put your phone to work for you. By simply dialing codes, you can redial busy numbers, redial your last caller, identify your caller before you answer and even block certain callers. To answer the second call, quickly press and release the switch-hook which will put the first caller on hold and connect you to the second. 2 To return to the first call, press/release the switch-hook again. You can switch back and forth between the two callers as often as you want. 3 If you want to end the first call, hang up. Your telephone will immediately ring with the second call. 4 Many phones have a “flash button” which you may use instead of a switch-hook. Note: The switch-hook is the round, flat or square button you push to hang up the phone. Cancel Call Waiting Allows you to turn off the Call Waiting feature on a per call basis. This feature prevents interruption during important calls or data transmissions and is active for all Call Waiting customers. HOW TO USE There will be an additional monthly charge for each service. Please call one of our Customer Service Representatives at *123 or 336-463-5022 to have a feature added. 4 Listen for a stutter dial tone followed by regular dial tone and dial *70. Listen for the second dial tone and dial the number you wish to reach. HOW TO TEMPORARILY CANCEL 5 KEEP IN TOUCH KEEP IN TOUCH Usage Sensitive Three-Way Calling HOW TO USE CALL WAITING WHILE A CALL IS IN PROGRESS Press and release the switch-hook and put first caller on hold. Listen for dial tone. Press *70. Release the switch-hook and return to call. Note: You cannot Cancel Call Waiting when you hear a Call Waiting tone while a call is in progress. Call Waiting automatically reactivates when you hang up. Three-Way Calling Turns a two-way conversation into a threeway conference call. It’s convenient, saves time and money by getting everyone on the phone at once, and enhances your business image at the same time. It is also great for teens who like to talk with more than one friend at once. Works the same way as Three-Way Calling. The only difference is that you will be charged each time when you activate it. HOW TO USE 1 Press and release the switch-hook or “flash button” to put the first call on hold. 2 You will hear three beeps, then dial tone. 3 Press *71. 4 You will hear three beeps again, then dial tone. 5 Dial the third person’s number. You can talk before adding the original caller. 6 To join all callers together, press and release the switch-hook. All three parties will be on line. You may use Call Transfer for three-way calls where you do not need to remain on the line to keep the other two callers connected. 6 Speed Dial 8 & 30 Reduces your dialing time for emergency or frequently called numbers by allowing you to dial using one or two digits. Your list can include long distance numbers. Available in either 8 or 30 number capacities. SPEED DIAL 8: HOW TO USE 1 Select a one-digit code (2 through 9). 2 Dial *74 and listen for dial tone. 3 Dial code and complete telephone number you are assigning to it (example: 2 + 1-800-555-1212). Two beeps will confirm your entry. 4 Press # key. 5 To call numbers selected for Speed Dial 8, simply dial one-digit code followed by #. 7 KEEP IN TOUCH SPEED DIAL 30: HOW TO USE 1 Select a two-digit code (20 through 49). 2 Dial *75 and listen for dial tone. 3 Dial code you have selected and complete telephone number you are assigning to it (example: 20 + 1-800-555-1212). Two beeps will confirm your entry. KEEP IN TOUCH TO CANCEL Press *89. Listen for announcement, hang up. Note: Does not work on 800, 900 or long distance numbers, numbers not recognized by Caller ID or on lines where Call Forwarding or other services are activated. • Call Return will not activate Voice Mail. 4 Press # key. • Cannot be used from a rotary or pulse phone. 5 To call numbers selected for Speed Dial 30, • Will not call a Long Distance number back. simply dial two-digit code followed by #. Note: You must keep a list of your Speed Dial numbers. Will not work from rotary or pulse phone. It is not necessary to include the area code with local numbers. Call Return Returns call to the last number that called you, whether or not you answered the phone. If the number is busy, Call Return will continue to redial and alert you with a distinctive ring when the line is free. HOW TO USE 1 After the missed call, wait for dial tone, then press *69. 2 Listen for the voice message giving you the number. Call Return cannot give or return numbers received as “unknown” or “private,” and cannot return calls that have been blocked with Caller ID Block. 3 Press 1 to complete the call. IF THE LINE IS BUSY 1 Hang up. Call Return will keep trying the line for up to 30 minutes. 2 A special call back ring alerts you when the call can be completed. Pick up the phone to automatically place that call. 8 Repeat Dialing Save time redialing a busy number by using Repeat Dialing to retry the number until the line is free. When that line is no longer busy, you will then hear a special ring. When you pick up, the number on the other end will automatically ring. HOW TO USE 1 Dial a phone number. When you hear a busy signal, quickly press and release the switchhook. You will hear a special dial tone. 2 Press *66. 3 If the line is still busy, listen for a confirmation message and then hang up. Repeat Dialing will check the number for up to 30 minutes. 4 A special callback ring alerts you if the line becomes free (the callback is a series of four rings). 5 Pick up the handset to automatically place the call. You will hear the number you are calling begin to ring. TO CANCEL 1 Press *86. On a rotary or pulse phone, dial 1186. 2 Listen for confirmation tone. Hang up. Note: • The switch-hook is the round, flat or square button you push to hang up the phone. 9 STAY IN CONTROL • To restart the 30-minute clock, repeat steps 1 through 3. • Repeat Dialing can check as many as 30 busy lines for you at one time. • Service does not work on 800 or 900 numbers, outside our service area or on lines where Call Forwarding or other services are activated. Call Selector Screens your incoming calls, allowing through only those numbers you’ve specified. You may have up to twelve numbers on your Call Selector list. A special ring will signal you when the call is from one of them. STAY IN CONTROL Note: • You may press 1, 0, #, or * at any time rather than waiting for the voice instructions. • The list that you create here is separate from any other lists you may be using for Preferred Call Forward, Call Block and similar services. • Call Selector, Preferred Call Forward and Call Block cannot be used with a rotary or pulse phone. When you hear the special ring, one of the Call Selector numbers is calling. All Call Selector numbers have the same ring. • If one of your numbers is also on your Call Block list, you must turn off Call Block before using Call Selector for that number. • You may experience long pauses between commands. HOW TO USE 1 Listen for a dial tone. Press *61. 2 Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored on your list. 3 Dial 3 to turn the feature on (if it is currently off), or turn the feature off (if it is currently on). TO ADD THE LAST CALLER TO YOUR LIST Press 01#. TO HEAR PHONE NUMBERS ON YOUR LIST Press 1. After the list is read, voice instructions will follow. TO ADD A NUMBER TO YOUR LIST Press #. Follow the voice instructions—you can store up to twelve phone numbers on your list. TO REMOVE A NUMBER FROM YOUR LIST Press *. Follow the voice instructions to remove any or all of the numbers. 10 Selective Ringing Uses distinctive rings to let you know who a call is for. You will have two numbers on the same line, each ringing the phone differently. Use one number for most of your calls. Use the other number for those calls you don’t want to miss or to alert someone in your household that the call is for them (for example, a teen in your household or a roommate). HOW TO USE Primary Directory Number (PDN)—the main phone number. Secondary Directory Number (SDN)— the phone number added through Selective Ringing. THE SELECTIVE RINGING RING AND CALL WAITING TONE PATTERNS # TYPE RING CALL WAITING PDN Normal Ring 1 Beep SDN 2 Short Rings 2 Beeps 11 STAY IN CONTROL HOW SELECTIVE RINGING AFFECTS OTHER CALLING FEATURES Voicemail: Only 1 mailbox is allowed and it must be applied to the Primary Directory Number. Call Waiting: Call Waiting is applied to the Primary Directory Number. The Secondary Directory Number has its own unique call tone pattern. Three-Way Calling: When Three-Way Calling is applied to the Primary Directory Number, the Secondary Directory Number will have it also. Note: Selective Ringing and Call Selector are NOT available on the same phone line. Call Forwarding is NOT available on Secondary Directory Numbers. Call Trace Allows you to immediately trace the last incoming harassing or prank call. Information about traces will be provided only to the appropriate law enforcement agency after you have made three successful traces. You then must work with the law enforcement agency to take appropriate action. HOW TO USE 1 When you get a nuisance call, quickly press and release the “switch-hook.” Listen for a special dial tone. 2 Press *57. STAY IN CONTROL • When you initiate a Call Trace, please record the exact time and date of the call and report this to Yadtel within ten days. • Yadtel will capture the calling number. • After three successful traces to the same number, the information will be provided to local law enforcement authorities in response to an official request. • You may only obtain the calling party’s number from local law enforcement. • Yadtel cannot distribute traced numbers. Call Transfer When you need to transfer a call, we make it simple. You can transfer to a different location or to the second line in your home. You can talk to whom you’re transferring the call before you send it, or include all three parties in the conversation. HOW TO USE Once you receive the incoming call, press and release the switch-hook to get a dial tone, then dial the second number. You can tell the party that they have a call, or you can just hang up and they will receive the call. Note: Works like Three-Way, but the originating caller does not have to stay on the line. You will hear two fast busy tones, then a dial tone. 3 Hang up the phone, go to a different extension, and pick it up to resume the calls. Note: Every 30 seconds, a partial reminder ring will be heard from all the telephone extensions. If you haven’t picked up after 195 seconds, the call will be disconnected. PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY Call Block Allows you to reject calls from a list of numbers you specify. HOW TO USE 1 Press *60. 2 Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off. The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored on your rejection list. 3 Follow the voice instructions and dial 3 to turn the feature ON (if it is currently off), or turn the feature OFF (if it is currently on). Subscriber Activated Call Block (SACB) TO ADD A NUMBER TO YOUR LIST Press # and follow the voice instructions. You can store up to twelve phone numbers on your rejection list. HOW TO USE TO HEAR PHONE NUMBERS ON YOUR LIST Dial 1. After the list is read, voice instructions will follow. Control the amount of long distance calls made from your home phone. When ordering, give our Customer Service Representative a 7 to 10 digit personal identification number (PIN) which you will enter to complete long distance calls. 1 Pick up the phone and dial the long distance call. You will be prompted to enter your PIN. The call will be completed. 2 To end the call just hang up. The blocking will still be in place. Note: This feature will restrict international, 900/976, or operator assisted calls. If your phone has redial on it, it will redial the entire last number called, including your PIN. TO REMOVE A NUMBER FROM YOUR LIST Press *. Note: Cannot be used from a rotary or pulse phone. You will not be notified when or how many calls have been rejected. • You may press 1, 0, # or * at any time rather than wait for the voice instructions. • The list you create here is separate from any other lists you may be using for Call Selector, Preferred Call Forwarding, and similar services. You can save up to twelve numbers on this list. • If you have entered the same number on both your Call Block list and your Preferred Call Forwarding list and Call Block is ON, Call Block will override Preferred Call Forwarding for that number. • A call shown as “unavailable” or “unknown” by Caller ID cannot be blocked but a call shown as “private” can. 14 15 PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY Caller ID Provides the name and number of the caller on your special telephone or display attachment before you answer the call. After the first full ring, the name and number of the caller appear and you can decide whether or not to answer. The caller ID info of a waiting call will appear if you subscribe to both Caller ID and Call Waiting. HOW TO USE 1 When you receive a call, wait until your telephone completes the first full ring. 2 The telephone number and name of the person calling you will automatically appear on your display screen between the first and second ring. 3 If you choose to answer the call, the number will remain on the screen until you or the caller hangs up. Note: To subscribe, you must have a special phone with a display or purchase a unit that works with the feature. The caller’s name may not always appear with the calling number. • If “private” appears on your screen, the caller may have blocked display of his/her number with Caller ID Block. You can choose to answer the call or not. PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY The person you’ve called will not be able to see your name or number on their Caller ID display screen. Instead, “private” will be displayed. Note: Cannot be used from a rotary or pulse phone. You cannot block your number from being displayed to companies using Automatic Number Identification or certain Call Trace features. These companies include Emergency 911 and certain federal and state agencies. • You must press *67 before each call you place. Otherwise, your phone number will be released to the person receiving your call. • If the party you have called has Call Return, they will not be given your number—however, they will be able to return a call to your number. Anonymous Call Rejection Numbers that originate from a private or blocked line will hear a recording stating the private call will not be accepted. You must subscribe to the feature through Yadtel. After subscribing, Anonymous Call Rejection will operate automatically. Note: The caller can reverse their privacy status (*82) and then call you back. The feature will not block “out of area,” “unknown” or “unavailable” calls. • If “unknown number” or “out of area” appears on your display, the caller is in an area or is using a long distance carrier that does not support Caller ID services. Caller ID Block Prevents your phone number from being displayed to the person receiving your call. HOW TO USE 1 Pick up your handset and listen for the dial tone. Press *67. You will hear a “stutter” dial tone. 2 Dial the number you are calling. 16 17 PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY PROTECT YOUR PRIVACY Selective Call Acceptance (Avoid-A-Call) Screens incoming calls against a list of subscriber-specified telephone numbers, and accepts only calls from those numbers. Calls from any other telephone numbers route to an announcement stating that you do not wish to receive calls at this time. HOW TO USE 1 Dial *68. Caller ID On Call Waiting Identifies a caller trying to reach you while you are already on the phone (must have a unit that is compatible). HOW TO USE 1 While you are on the phone, you will be alerted by a beep that you have another call. 2 The second caller’s name and number will appear on the display. 3 To go to the second caller, quickly press and release the switch-hook. The first call will be put on hold and you will be connected to the second call. 4 To return to the first call, press and release the switch-hook again. The number will remain on the screen until you or the second caller hangs up. 5 If you want to end the first call, hang up and the telephone will ring immediately with the second call. 2 Dial 3 to activate or deactivate. TO ADD A NUMBER TO THE LIST 1 Press #. 2 Enter the 10-digit telephone number, followed by the # key again. 3 You may include up to 12 numbers on the list. TO DELETE A NUMBER FROM THE LIST 1 Press *. Call Forward Allows you to transfer incoming calls to another number. You don’t have to miss important calls, or sit waiting by the phone. It keeps your home more secure by giving the impression someone is there. TO REPEAT THE INSTRUCTIONS Press 0. Note: Will not block telemarketer calls or other calls marked “out of area” on Caller ID. 18 HOW TO USE 1 Press *72. 2 Listen for three tones followed by the dial tone. 3 Dial the number to which you would like your calls forwarded. When the party answers, Call Forwarding is in effect. If the line is busy or no one answers, hang up and repeat steps 1 and 2. On the second attempt, no answer is required. 19 FOLLOW ALONG PHONE TO CANCEL 1 Dial *73 and listen for two beeps and the dial tone. From a rotary or pulse phone, dial 1173 and wait four seconds. 2 Listen for a confirmation message. Note: If you forward your calls to a number outside your local calling area, you will be charged the long distance fees associated with any calls forwarded to that number. • When your calls are being forwarded, your telephone will ring briefly each time your number is dialed. You cannot answer the calls, but the ring is a reminder that Call Forwarding is still in effect. • You can still make outgoing calls while your incoming calls are being forwarded. • If you get voice mail while trying to forward calls, this service may not work. Preferred Call Forward Works just like regular Call Forwarding; routes important callers to alternate phone numbers. You decide which calls are forwarded by building a list of up to 12 numbers. HOW TO USE 2 After the list is read, voice instructions will follow. TO ADD A NUMBER TO YOUR LIST 1 Press #. 2 Follow voice instructions. Press 01# to add the last caller to your list. TO REMOVE A NUMBER FROM YOUR LIST 1 Press *. Follow voice instructions. 2 Press 07 after hearing a number to remove it from the list. Note: • You may press 1, 0, #, or * at any time rather than waiting for the voice instructions. • The list you create here is separate from any other lists you may be using for Call Selector, Call Block, and similar services. • This service can work with Call Forward (all calls). Numbers on your preferred list will follow you to your Preferred Call Forward number. All other calls you receive will be routed to your regular Call Forward number. • Preferred Call Forward will forward to a long distance number. TO HEAR PHONE NUMBERS ON YOUR LIST Press 1. 1 20 FOLLOW ALONG PHONE • If you have entered the same number on both your Call Block list and your Preferred Call Forward list and Call Block is ON, Call Block will override Preferred Call Forward for that number. Simultaneous Ringing (Sim Ring) Offers a simple and effective “find me” service, in real time, for subscribers who are on the move and don’t want to miss an important call. It is ideal for small office/home office, small business operators, and mobile 21 FOLLOW ALONG PHONE subscribers (such as real estate agents and sales professionals). A call to a single directory number rings up to five different telephone numbers (EAS-Extended Area Service as well as toll). Toll charges will apply. Whichever phone answers first will receive the call, whether in the office, at home or mobile. Any home or remote telephone may be used to activate/deactivate the feature and make changes to the directory numbers in the ring list. FOLLOW ALONG PHONE 3 Additional confirmation of the deletion, by pressing the 1 key, is required when the system reads back the telephone number being deleted. TO HEAR PHONE NUMBERS ON YOUR LIST Dial 1. After hearing each number, you may delete it by pressing 07. TO REPEAT INSTRUCTIONS Dial 0. HOW TO USE Provide our Customer Service Representative with a 7 to 10 digit PIN (this number can only be changed by the CSR). The PIN is used only with the remote access telephone lines. Call Forward Remote Activation Allows you to activate Call Forward from a remote location. If you don’t know the phone number for a place you are headed, you can wait until you arrive to enter it as your forwarding number. TO ACTIVATE FROM YOUR PHONE LINE SUBSCRIBED TO SIM RING Press *88. TO ACTIVATE FROM ANOTHER LOCATION 1 Dial 336-463-2416, 336-998-5248, 336-468-1594 or 704-546-7264, whichever number is closest to you. 2 3 Dial your 10 digit telephone pilot number and PIN (you will be guided by voice prompts). 1 2 22 Provide our Customer Service Representative with a 7 to 10 digit PIN. To change the number, you must contact Customer Service. 1 Dial the access number closest to you (336463-1234, 704-546-1234, or 336-998-1234). 2 You will be prompted to enter your telephone number followed by your PIN and the # key. 3 You will then be prompted to enter a code to activate (72#) or deactivate (73#) Call Forwarding. 4 Dial the number where you would like your calls forwarded, followed by #. 5 The system will read back the forwarding number you chose and ask you to verify it by pressing 1, or to re-enter the number by pressing 2. Dial 3 to activate or deactivate. TO ADD A NUMBER TO YOUR LIST 1 Press #. 2 HOW TO USE Dial the number you wish to add followed by the # sign again. TO DELETE A NUMBER FROM YOUR LIST Press *. Dial the number you wish to remove followed by the * sign again.
