Just use the Quick Action icons shown earlier. With a specific account selected, choose Transfer From or Transfer To. Fill in the amount of the transfer and include a description (if desired). Select a From Account and a To Account. Choose a Transfer Date (can be in the future). Key in the Amount. Description is optional. Click on the Enter Transaction Frequency button. 11 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Transfers and Online Activity – One-Time Transfers continued The system automatically defaults to One-Time Transfer. Click on Submit. You will be prompted to either Cancel or OK to view the transfer information just entered. After clicking OK, a preview will appear titled Submit Transaction. This gives you the opportunity to Approve or Cancel, save in Draft status or request Mobile Authorization via Mobile Alerts. Approve: Authorizes the transaction. Draft: Places the transaction in a pending state until it’s either Approved or Cancelled at another time. Cancel: Cancels the transaction from processing. Important: A transfer will not be processed until the Approve button has been selected. The Repeat this process box at the bottom of the Submit Transaction screen returns you to the Transfer Funds screen to initiate another transaction. If you do not choose Repeat this process, you will be taken to the Online Activity page. 12 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Transfers and Online Activity – Recurring Transfers Recurring Transfers As discussed on the previous page, the system automatically defaults to the One-Time Transfer option when transferring funds. You can make recurring transfers by expanding the Enter Payment Frequency category. To set up a recurring transfer online, follow the same process as for a one-time transfer except you will change the option under Enter Transfer Frequency to Recurring. Then: Choose the Frequency (Weekly Payment or Monthly Payment). Select the Recur By option you desire (Days of the Week or Calendar Days). Select either Initiate the payment every week/month or Initiate the payment every X week(s)/ month(s) (key in the number of weeks or months). Indicate the Recur By option (Calendar Days or Days of the Week) and select the day of the month below it. Choose one of the three end date options: o No end date, o End after (if selecting this, enter the number of payments in the box), or o End on (enter the date). 13 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Transfers and Online Activity – Recurring Transfers / Pending Transfers and Activity Note: Approving a Recurring Transfer is the same process as for a One-Time Transfer. Important Note: To cancel a series of Recurring Transfers, you must do so under Manage Recurring Transfers. As with One-Time Transfers, if you do not choose Repeat this process you will be taken to the Online Activity page. Pending Transfers and Activity Pending Transfers and Activity provides a listing of ALL transactions you originated online or through Mobile Banking. Under Transfers and Online Activity, click Pending Transfers and Activity. The next page shows the transactions for all of your online accounts - whether you manage one or multiple accounts. (Tracking number, user name, creation date, status, process date, originating account number, etc. are shown.) 14 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Transfers and Online Activity – Pending Transfers and Activity continued The Online Activity lightning bolts allow you to View, Approve or Cancel previously drafted or saved transactions. In addition, you can Copy a transaction regardless of its status. View Transaction allows you to see the details of that specific Internet-generated transaction. Approve authorizes the transaction. Cancel prevents the transaction from being processed. Note: Cancelled transactions cannot be restored, so cancel only if you are sure you do not intend to send the transaction for processing. Online activity can be grouped by several options (type of transaction, date created, account and user name). This is done by clicking on the Group By drop-down box located in the tool bar. You can also search for specific transactions through various Search Criteria. 15 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Transfers and Online Activity – Pending Transfers and Activity continued If you need to make changes to a transaction, you must start over by either using the Copy function or by creating it from scratch and deleting the original transaction, if it has not already been processed. If you are using Copy to just repeat a transaction, you can also find a transaction and repeat it from the ALL status. Online Transaction Status Terms To Know Active: Any transaction generated online that has been initiated within the last week or is in a status that still allows action to be taken. Drafted: Any transaction you have put in a pending (Drafted) state can still be either approved or cancelled. Authorized: When a transaction, such as a funds transfer, has been approved by a user with approval rights, the transaction displays in the Authorized category in Pending Transfers and Activity. Authorized indicates that a user is ready for American Bank to process the transaction. Cancelled: When a transaction, such as a funds transfer, has been cancelled by a user from the Transaction Details page, the transaction displays in the Cancelled category in Online Activity. Processed: When a transaction, such as funds transfer, has been approved by a user with approval rights and then later processed, the transaction displays in the Processed category in Pending Transfers and Activity. Other: Any transaction that might have been unsuccessful (processing failure), or does not fall under the previous categories. Please note: Cancelled transactions cannot be restored, so cancel only if you are sure you do not intend to send the transaction for processing. 16 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Transfers and Online Activity Pay Bills Pay Bills With the Pay Bills feature, you can pay your bills in a convenient and paperless way. Your Secure Mailbox is accessible from two different areas in online banking. The first place is through the Account Overview screen. You can also access your Secure Mailbox from the Services menu, by choosing Messages. By providing more than one way to access your Secure Mailbox, you have fewer clicks and easier navigation. From the Secure Mailbox page, you can: Create new messages Read selected messages Reply to messages Set messages to never expire Delete messages Sort and group messages 18 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Services – Stop Payment Stop Payment Use the Make a Stop Payment Request page to place an online stop payment on a single check or a consecutive series of checks. An online request to stop payment on a check or series of checks does not guarantee that the check(s) will be stopped, as the item(s) may have already been processed and posted to your account. To place an online stop payment: Click Stop Payment under the Services menu. On the Make a Stop Payment Request screen, under Enter Account Information, select an Account and enter a Reason for stopping the payment. Choose For a Single Check or For Multiple Checks. For a single check, key in the Number, Payee, Amount, and Date Written. For multiple checks in a series, enter the Start Number, Start Date, End Number and End Date. Click Submit. You will be prompted to either Cancel or OK to view the information just entered. 19 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Services – Stop Payment continued After clicking OK, a preview will appear titled Submit Transaction. This will give you the opportunity to Approve, Draft, Cancel or select Help. Note: A Stop Payment will not be processed until the Approve button has been selected. A check box at the bottom of the Submit Transaction screen allows you to make another transaction if you desire to do so. If this box is checked, the system will return you to the Stop Payment Request screen. If it is not checked, the system takes you to Online Activity. A window appears with the question “Are you sure you want to approve this transaction?” Click OK. 20 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Services – Check Reorder Check Reorder The Check Reorder page makes it quick and easy to securely reorder checks for an account. Each order submitted is for only one account and orders for multiple accounts must be submitted separately. Additionally, this page cannot be used for first-time check orders or to change the type or style of your checks from previous orders. Check reorder requests may be submitted via the Check Reorder option under Services. Click Check Reorder. Select an account from the drop-down menu and click Submit. Note: You must have already placed at least one previous check order with American Bank before you can reorder checks through Bank OnLine. You will be redirected to the Harland Clarke website to complete your check reorder. Please make sure your pop-up blocker is disabled so the Harland Clarke site can open in a new window. 21 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Services – Other Services Other Services You can transfer money to External Accounts or make Person-to-Person Transfers under Other Services. External Account Transfer You can transfer money to nonAmerican Bank accounts via the feature Add External Account. The screen will walk you through the instructions to set up your external accounts, including how to enter your external account’s routing and account numbers. You will use the feature Verify External Account Requests to verify the micro-deposit amounts transferred to your external accounts for authentication purposes. Person to Person Transfer The feature called Transfer to another account allows you to make Person to Person transfers. You can either make a single transfer to another American Bank account holder, or link the other American Bank OnLine account holder’s account to your login for later use. 22 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Other Services – Total Snapshot In addition to viewing your American Bank account information in Bank OnLine, you can also pull in account information from other financial institutions you do business with, using our Total Snapshot tool. You can also view auto-categorized transactions and current balances on all your accounts. Link your mortgage, investment, retirement and reward accounts; use the budgeting and cash flow tools; and even calculate your total net worth. Log In You will find Total Snapshot within Bank OnLine, under the Services menu. Simply click on Total Snapshot and a separate window will open. You can start using the tool at any time, and log in as frequently as you like. Get Started The Get Started screen displays quick links to pages and tools within Total Snapshot. If you are logging in for the first time, take a few minutes to explore the site. All the American Bank accounts you have access to from within Bank OnLine will automatically pull over, including balances and recent transactions. These accounts can be displayed on the Account Balances screen or by clicking on the Total Snapshot tab at the top of the page. You can start linking accounts from other financial institutions right away as well. Simply click on the Link Another Account button on the Get Started page and follow the instructions. 23 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Other Services – Total Snapshot continued American Bank Accounts Displayed American Bank accounts you have access to from within Bank OnLine, along with their balances and recent transactions, will automatically appear in Total Snapshot. You cannot link an American Bank account that you don’t have access to within Bank OnLine. If you have separate Bank OnLine logins, for personal and business use for instance, each Bank OnLine profile will have its own Total Snapshot setup and session. Link an Account From Another Financial Institution You can link an account from another financial institution either by clicking on the Link Another Account button on the Get Started tab or through the Quick Links on the Accounts Overview page under the Total Snapshot tab. You will see a pop-up window that allows you to search for the financial institution of your choice. Make sure you select the correct product or service within the bank as well (the description appears after the bank’s name). Some large banks have several different account-linking profiles, for basic bank accounts, bill pay, credit cards, mortgages, etc. Therefore, if you have more than one product or service at a particular bank, you may have to link each product separately. Depending on your financial institution’s login requirements, you may be asked to enter your user name, password, passcode, PIN, security questions and answers, token ID and even captcha phrase. 24 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Other Services – Total Snapshot continued Once you’ve entered your login information, click the Link Account button. Total Snapshot creates a secure connection to your financial institution and retrieves your account balances and transactions. (You will only need to go through the account linking process once. Total Snapshot maintains the link from that point on, unless you delete it.) It may take the system a minute or two to verify your information. If you run into problems linking your account, try again or try back later. You may even want to try a different search for your bank and/or product, to make sure you’ve selected the correct login request to add the account. If you need to delete an account setup and try again, you can do so from the Manage Accounts page. Security Your account data is safe with American Bank. Our Total Snapshot service is security-tested on a continuous basis by leading security firms and federal regulators, and is certified to meet the highest security standards. This highly-secure site helps thwart would-be thieves by reducing their opportunities for "phishing" attacks, keystroke logging, and other means of ID theft. What's more, Total Snapshot lets you track every transaction on all of your accounts, in one, easy-to-monitor list. And it's all backed by a name you can trust: American Bank. If you have further questions about the security protections we offer, please contact American Bank Customer Service at (800) 257-8316, 7 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Accounts Overview Once your accounts are linked, you can easily see them displayed with balances under the Account Summary page. Each account shows the total available balance and when the account was last updated or refreshed. You can also manually update your accounts by clicking Update All Accounts. You’ll also see Quick Links off to the left-hand side of the page. These allow you to link or group accounts, for example. 25 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Other Services – Total Snapshot continued Account Summary The Account Summary page displays a list of individual account names as links that allow you to access the Transactions page. The Account Summary page has four views available for you to choose from: All Accounts, My Groups, My Bill Pay Accounts, and My Financial Accounts. Once you have selected an account summary view, this will be the default view each time you log in unless you change it to another view. Along with the Account Summary, the Accounts Overview section also includes the following tools which are found by mousing over the Accounts Overview tab tile: Dashboard A one-stop shop to see your accounts, balances, rewards manager and net worth statement. You can customize what you see on your Dashboard and the order in which you see it under the Options tab from within the Personal Preferences menu. Net Worth Statement This feature allows you to track your assets and liabilities so you can see your overall financial picture at-a-glance. Investments Manager Investments are a key part of financial planning. Knowing how they are performing can help you reach your goals. With Total Snapshot, you can easily track all your investments on one screen. Link investment accounts from almost any financial institution to Total Snapshot, including stocks, mutual funds, 529s, 401K accounts, IRAs, bonds, CDs, and other investments. Rewards Manager You can see all your accrued reward points and miles in a single view. Bill Reminders Total Snapshot makes it easy to manage all your bills. First, link your utilities, credit cards, insurance, and loans to Total Snapshot. Then use Bill Reminders to track which bills are due - and establish convenient e-mail or text message reminders. (NOTE: Total Snapshot does not automatically list bills from your Bank OnLine Bill Pay account.) Real Estate Center In partnership with Zillow.com, Total Snapshot offers a way to include the current estimated value of your home (house or condominium) as an asset to offset the mortgage liability and accurately represent your net worth. Zillow keeps track of home prices across the United States and updates data frequently. As a result, you can keep your balance sheet up-to-date and ensure your portfolio reflects changes in the housing market. Transactions All Accounts The main screen under the Transactions section features a transaction register that displays the date, amount, account name, category, and transaction status of each transaction. Once you start using Total Snapshot, your transaction history begins to build, and history will be maintained in the system as long as you continue to log in on a somewhat regular basis. Newly-linked accounts will bring over 2-4 weeks of transaction history, on average. 26 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Other Services – Total Snapshot continued Transaction Search allows you to find any transaction without having to remember the exact details such as which account you may have used, the exact date of the transaction, or the exact name of the payee. Transaction Search uses various elements of the transaction such as transaction description or memo value to perform the search. Total Snapshot systematically categorizes all incoming transactions automatically, showing how money is being spent or earned. With over 40 different preset categories such as restaurants, travel, and investment income, Total Snapshot can accurately determine how most of your spending and earning is occurring. You have the ability to categorize and re-categorize your transactions. The Total Snapshot categorization engine continuously learns from user interaction and refines internal auto-categorization rules progressively to improve future transaction categorization. You can also re-title categories so they have names that may be more meaningful to you. Additionally, you can create subcategories where you may want to move transactions (for example, if you knit you might give the Hobbies category two subcategories, one for yarn and one for needles). More flexibility is offered by allowing you the option to split transactions. So a single $100 visit to Sam’s Club could be divided between food, hobbies, and housewares, based on the items purchased, for more accurate budgeting and expense tracking. In addition to Transactions, the All Accounts section includes the following tools which can be found by mousing over the Transactions tab title: Custom Categorization Rules You can use the Custom Categorization Rules page to create your own categorization rules for transactions. The custom categorization rules can be used to identify and correctly categorize transactions that the global categorization rules may not be able to identify, such as your paycheck or 27 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Other Services – Total Snapshot continued rent check. For example, you can create a rule to automatically categorize your monthly rent and another rule to automatically identify and categorize your paycheck. Rules can be created based on specific transaction amounts or ranges, descriptions, and the like. You could create a rule that says that any purchases using the word "books" in the description and exceeding $100 appear in the Education category. Any purchases below that amount with "books" in the description should go to the Entertainment category. Manage Categories Total Snapshot has a predefined set of transaction category names. You can use the Manage Categories page to edit the predefined names. Changes made to the transaction category names are saved and will be displayed in the Category drop-down list. Spending Reports Total Snapshot provides an easy-to-use interface for creating and maintaining an individualized personalized budget. Using Total Snapshot, you can set budgets and see how you are tracking against your spending limits. This information is displayed in graphic and tabular formats. You can evaluate and adjust your individual budget at any time based on better awareness of your financial activities and spending habits. The Set Budget Goals page provides an average monthly spending analysis, current monthly totals, and the ability to establish budgets by category. Cash Flow Analysis The Cash Flow Analysis Chart report provides a graphic representation of your income versus expenses over a specified period of time. At the bottom of the Cash Flow Analysis Chart you will see the same data presented as a table. Each cell in the table is a link that takes you to the transactions that make up that particular total. You can choose to run the Cash Flow Analysis Chart report either for the past 3, 6, or 12 months, or for this year or last year. The report also displays the average monthly net cash flow and total net cash flow for the selected period. (NOTE: History begins to build when you link accounts, so a 12-month analysis may not be available until you’ve been using Total Snapshot for a year or so.) Expense Analysis The Expense Analysis reports provide a graphical representation of data that has been categorized by you or the system. A classic pie chart is shown to give you a sense of how your money is being spent. Spending by Category The Spending by Category report gives you the opportunity to see spending for an individual category in one or more account groups over a designated period of time. Budget vs. Actual Spending With this took, you can track how you are doing against budget goals you have set for yourself on a category-bycategory basis. 28 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Other Services – Total Snapshot continued Credit Card Utilization This is a graphical and tabular report showing with the credit line, outstanding balance, utilization percentage, and interest rate for each of your linked credit cards. Personalized Reports Use this feature to create reports showing tax-deductible transactions, medical expenses, business transactions, and personal expenses. Set Budget Goals Establish your budget goals and generate reports to see how the goals measure up to your spending reality with this feature. Manage Accounts Use Account Groups to logically organize accounts to simplify the management of your finances. For example, group all of your retirement investment accounts together to see how close you are to your retirement goals. The Manage Sites and Accounts page displays all the accounts you have added. Using this module, you can edit your login information, auto-login, delete, or deactivate the account. Deactivating a site in Total Snapshot will temporarily disable the site details and prevents data from being updated in Total Snapshot. You can choose to reactivate it whenever you want. Deleting a site will permanently remove the site and its login information from Total Snapshot. Options The Options tab gives you another way to get to the Manage Sites and Accounts page, and also allows you to edit your application preferences, change your Dashboard layout, edit your Dashboard display, manage categories and disable the Get Started tab. 29 Bank OnLine User’s Guide Other Services – Total Snapshot continued Financial Calendar The Financial Calendar displays all of your upcoming bills, bill payments and funds transfers that are either due or scheduled in the current month. Bills, payments and transfers are noted on the exact due date in the calendar. You can choose to view or edit payments, see transfers, or review bill information by clicking the applicable links. Log Out of Total Snapshot You can log out of Total Snapshot by clicking Log Out in the top right-hand corner of the page.
