Academic Excellence with a Christian Perspective 2014—2015 Annual Report Dear First Baptist School Families and Friends, It is our pleasure to serve the church and school for the 2015—2016 academic year. Last year was an exciting year for us. We began hosting athletic events, fine arts productions and special events at the FBS Athletic and Performing Arts Complex on James Island. Our students continued to excel both athletically and academically. Many FBS athletic teams won state titles, continuing a tradition of excellence. The 2015 graduating class of 47 graduates, received 10 of the highest level scholarships offered, including the Presidential Scholarship and the Provost Scholarship. Of the 47 graduates, six were Palmetto Fellows and 36% received multiple offers of acceptance from colleges and universities. An agreement signed between FBS and Charleston Southern University will allow FBS students the opportunity to participate in a dual enrollment program starting in the 2015-2016 academic year. Loyalty Fund Donations Each year, private support to First Baptist School plays a critical role in preserving the school’s place as one of the city’s best private institutions for quality education and affordability. Private support touches every corner of campus from scholarships to professional development for faculty to improving technology. The 2014-2015 Loyalty Fund exceeded the goal of $125,000! Thanks to our dedicated supporters, we raised over $180,000!
