The Venue
Cecil Sharp House is one of the most celebrated and
legendary music and dance venues in central London.
This iconic Grade II listed 1930’s building is situated
near Regent's Park, only minutes from the bustle of
CamdenTown and picturesque Primrose Hill.
Cecil Sharp House has served as a location for films, television
programmes and fashion shoots. The House has hosted some
of the biggest names in folk and popular music including Martin &
Eliza Carthy, Davy Graham, Mumford & Sons, Laura Marling, Ed
Harcourt, Graham Coxon, and Goldfrapp.
From cabarets to conferences, our spacious rooms and professional
staff make Cecil Sharp House an attractive venue option for anything
you might want. Whether you’re promoting an event, hosting
a meeting, looking for a teaching space or organising a wedding,
this flexible and unique venue provides the solution.
Cecil Sharp House is the
purpose built home of the
English Folk Dance and Song
Society (EFDSS), a Registered
Charity in England and Wales
No. 305999, and the Vaughan
Williams Memorial Library,
England's national collection
of folk music and dance. By
holding your event at Cecil
Sharp House you directly help
to fund the Society’s valuable
work. Income made through
venue hire enables EFDSS to
preserve, protect, disseminate
and promote English folk arts.

“We love being the caterers
for Cecil Sharp House.
From weddings, festivals,
children’s parties, concerts,
dances and corporate
events, we adore creating
a bespoke menu that fits
each client’s vision.”
Catering Directors of Pink Food,

Our welcoming cafe is open daily and is at the
heart of all activities at Cecil Sharp House. With
comfortable seats for relaxing and large tables
for dining or working lunches, it's a perfect space
to meet friends or colleagues.
The food is eclectic and combines British
classics, like smoky fish pie and a beef stew
packed with vegetables, with Asian inspired
dishes like Malaysian pumpkin redang curry
served with sticky rice and Tom Ka soup.
If you are in a hurry you can also ‘grab and go’
with freshly baked tarts, sausage rolls and
empanadas. We can satisfy a sweet tooth too
with our melt in the mouth brownies and delicious
homemade cakes, as well as providing caffeine
fixes with freshly brewed illy coffee.
“
“Cecil Sharp House is a
fantastic, beautiful space
to hold any event in. The

wonderfully helpful and
the food was amazing.”
