Scout Male Bengal Tiger Born May 1998. Scout has lived at the ABQ BioPark Zoo since he was 6 months old. He has shared his exhibit with Lucy, our female Bengal Tiger for most of his life. Scout loves to smear the paint on the canvas with his nose and then lick it off. Lucy Female Bengal Tiger Born September 18, 1988. Lucy has lived at the ABQ BioPark Zoo since she was 4 months old. She has shared her exhibit with Scout, our male Bengal Tiger most of her life. Spanky Male Mountain Lion Born January 2002. One of the set of mountain lion triplets that arrived at the ABQ BioPark Zoo when they were three months old. Born in the wild, all three had to be hand raised at a few weeks old due to their mother’s death. Spanky takes pleasure in stepping on paint and also rubbing his nose in it. Azeo Male Snow Leopard Born May 11, 2001. Azeo has lived at the ABQ BioPark Zoo since he was 3 years old. He shares his exhibit with female snow leopard Kachina. Azeo and Kachina have produced 7 healthy snow leopard cubs in the past four years. Azeo likes to smear paint with his nose, step on the canvas, and then rub his cheeks over it. Darla Female Mountain Lion Born January 2002. One of the set of mountain lion triplets that arrived at the ABQ BioPark Zoo when they were three months old. Born in the wild, all three had to be hand raised at a few weeks old due to their mother’s death. Fireball Female Ocelot Born August 24, 1997. Fireball has lived at the ABQ BioPark Zoo for 10 years. She shares the exhibit with Beamer, the male ocelot. Fireball likes to step on the paint then make footprints all over her den. Beamer Sarah Female African Lion: Born September 1, 1989, Sarah came to the ABQ BioPark in 2002 from the Knoxville Zoo. She shared the lion exhibit with her companion Cosmo, a male African Lion. Sarah passed away at the ripe old age of 22 in October of 2011. Male Ocelot Born September 9, 1994. Beamer has lived at the ABQ BioPark Zoo for 10 years. Beamer shares the exhibit with his companion Fireball, the female Ocelot. Beamer likes to smear paint with his paws and then climb into the zookeeper’s lap. Needless to say, the canvas and the keeper quickly become lovely works of art. Manchas Male Jaguar Born November 14, 1998, in Leon, Mexico. Manchas has lived at the ABQ BioPark Zoo since he was 2 years old. Manchas likes to smear paint with his face and also step in the paint. Merlina Sarabi Female African Lion: Born in 1995, Sarabi arrived at the ABQ BioPark Zoo on November 6, 2011, from the Ellen Trout Zoo in Lufkin, TX. She and new companion, Cosmo, are slowly being introduced to one another throughout December of 2011. Female Jaguar Born July 2000 in Leon, Mexico. Merlina has lived at the ABQ BioPark Zoo since she was 6 years old. Merlina likes to smear paint with her paws and she almost always takes a small bite out of the canvas.
