Robertson’s DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE allowed stage legend John Barrymore to deliver his first virtuoso performance on film. Blending historic charm with grim naturalism, this version of DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE is one of the more faithful of the many screen adaptations of Stevenson’s story. Though greatly influenced by T.R. Sullivan’s popular stage treatment, it recounts a visionary scientist’s illfated attempts to unleash the human mysteries that dwell beneath the shell of the civilized self. THEATRE ETIQUETTE One of the biggest concerns expressed to The Hanover Theatre staff in our patron surveys emailed after most shows, is something we have little control over, the disruptions of other audience members. The theatre is taking this seriously by developing a list of general guidelines to communicate to audience members in order to ensure everyone enjoys their experience at The Hanover Theatre. Here are some suggestions: • Audience members are part of the play or performance and are connected to other people in the audience and on stage. Your attention and energy are integral to the theatre experience, so please be respectful. • The overture is part of the performance and indicates that it is time to stop talking. • Before coming to the theatre, use very little perfume or cologne as many people are allergic to scents. • If you plan to bring a child to a show, take the time to select the right show and to prepare them to be quiet, sit still and not to disturb others around them. 38 Contact Diane Pieciak at 508.930.2424 or [email protected] 1.4 miles from The Hanover Theatre Discount with The Hanover Theatre membership card TOP 50 THEATRES IN THE WORLD!
