This year’s convention exhibits were sold out by the end of May. The trade show will be open during the Annual Convention which will be held October 1-4, 2015 at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City. UTCA: INDUSTRY NEWS August Magazine To Feature 50th Anniversary of UTCA Robert A. Briant, Sr. Memorial Golf Outing Another Big Success The UTCA’s Annual Robert A. Briant, Sr. Memorial Golf Outing was held June 8 at Eagle Oaks Golf Club in Farmingdale, NJ. The outing raised more than $30,000 for the Association’s Scholarship Fund. The event chairman, Ed Ciel, the committee and UTCA staffer Dan Neville are commended for their efforts. Next year’s outing will return to Eagle Oaks and is tentatively scheduled for June 7, 2016. This annual event provides the majority of funding for the UTCA Scholarship Program. In 2015, the association presented $31,500 in scholarship awards to five students. Casa de Campo Executive Seminar Announced The UTCA’s Executive Seminar announcement was recently distributed to association members. The seminar will take place January 9-16, 2016 at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. Attendees will stay seven nights at this world-renowned 7000 acre resort which will include two cocktail receptions and three dinners. Details can be found on the UTCA website. Since its establishment in 1965 by five utility contractors, the UTCA has grown into one of the foremost construction associations in the United States. The August Issue of the publication will also include an introduction of Tino Garcia of Ferreira Construction who was elected as President of UTCA earlier this month. Anyone interested in placing a congratulatory message of advertisement in the August Issue of the magazine should contact Helene Nasdeo of the UTCA office as soon as possible. Paul T. Fader Recognized As Top Lawyer UTCA’s Legal Counsel Paul T. Fader, Esq. was recently recognized as one of the top attorneys in Bergen County in the June 2015 issue of (201) Magazine. Paul was selected as one of the leading attorneys in Business, Corporate and Commercial Law. He was honored with this distinction by way of his peers who voted in a peer-review survey (201) Magazine conducted through an outside research service. Paul has a strong background in law and government which allows him to successfully provide notable clients such as PepsiCo, Cablevision, and United Water in addition to the Utility & Transportation Contractors Association. Environmental Trust 2016 Project List Available The list of wastewater, drinking water as well as Sandy related projects that are financed by the New Jersey Environmental Infrastructure Trust (NJEIT), is available on the UTCA website. This project list includes approximately $1.995 billion in construction. Projects that will be funded include pipe, treatment plant and pumping station projects. Briant, Sr. DOT FY 2016 Construction Program To Be Approximately $800 Million The UTCA Board of Directors recently established the Robert A. Briant, Sr. Memorial Award which will be presented annually at the UTCA convention.
