Across the season Brautigam is performing the
cycle of Beethoven Piano Concertos at the
Concertgebouw with five different orchestras.
Beethoven Concerto No 5 with the Netherlands
Radio Philharmonic is followed by No 2 with the
Wiener Akademie as part of a European tour (on
fortepiano), No 4 with the Residentie Orkest, No
3 with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and
finishes with No 1 with the Kölner Akademie (also
on fortepiano). His record label, BIS, is releasing a
boxed set of his recent recording of the complete
Beethoven sonatas on fortepiano.
Such was the chemistry between orchestra,
conductor and soloist last season that the
Bournemouth Symphony, Kees Bakels and Ronald
Brautigam are uniting again in December, this
time to perform Mendelssohn Piano Concerto
No 1.
