2nd Annual Tribute Event Mel Brooks will Capp
2nd Annual Tribute Event Sunday, November 2, 2014 Martin and Esther Capp have created a path of generosity that has epitomized their life in the Jewish and broader community. Temple of Aaron, the JCC and many other organizations are forever indebted to the Capps for their vision and lifelong giving. Temple of Aaron deeply appreciates their kindness, beginning in the 1950s when the Highland Park building was constructed, and continuing through the years with the Capp Lounge, Capital Repair, Clergy Fund and the Jubilee Celebration. The Capps’ compassion delivered the major gift to build the St. Paul JCC in 1963, which carries their name, and they have continued supporting the JCC with Capital Repair, Camp Butwin additions and the Burt Garr Matching Gift Fund. In addition, Jewish Family Service presented the Community Service Award to the Capps in 1995, and Marty, who once served as Hillel President at University of Minnesota, currently is providing assistance to renovate the building. Esther has used her talents while serving on numerous Boards, including Temple of Aaron, JCC and JFS, and she contributed enormous energy helping with Russian and Eastern European resettlement. In the general community, the Capps recently donated major gifts to support Sholom East, St. Paul Children’s Hospital, Minnesota Children’s Museum, Herzl Camp and United Hospital in St. Paul. שיר חדש Mel Brooks will Capp-ture your Attention as Special Entertainment for Special Community Leaders Mel has won an Academy Award, Emmy Award, Tony Award and a Laurence Olivier Award. We all know he has not yet won a Temple of Aaron Award. Mel will bring his comedic genius to St Paul to entertain us. Generations have loved his movies (The Producers, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Silent Movie, High Anxiety, History of the World: Part I, Spaceballs, and Robin Hood: Men in Tights). 616 S.
