How to get to the embarkation wharves
» Venice: embarkation at 8.45 a.m. at Pontile della Pietà
on Riva degli Schiavoni, near St. Mark’s, in front of the Church of Pietà
The wharf called Pontile della Pietà can be reached (ticket cost is € 7.00, save variations):
From the Santa Lucia railway station: by the ACTV steamboat, line no. 5.1 which gets to the San Zaccaria wharf (in front
of the Danieli Hotel).
From Piazzale Roma: by the ACTV steamboat, line no. 5.1 which gets to the San Zaccaria wharf (in front of the Danieli
Hotel).
From Punta Sabbioni: with the transfer services provided by the ACTV company, leaving at 8.00 a.m. (and arriving at the
Pontile della Pietà at 8.35).
The distance from Pontile San Zaccaria to Pontile della Pietà is a 5-minute walk.
» Padua: embarkation at 8.00 a.m. at Pontile del Portello, or the wharf of the Portello,
the old river port of Padua
Tourists can reach the embarkation wharf at the Portello in Padua (see enclosed MAP OF PADUA):
On foot: from the Padua railway station (see map no. 2) it is a 20-minute walk; from the square of the Railway Station
walk to via Niccolò Tommaseo heading to the Fiera (the Exhibition Centre), and walk past the Fiera entrance; then turn to
the right on the side road via Venezia to get straight to the Portello.
By bus from the Padua railway station: from the bus station next to the Padua railway station (busses leave around 7.25
/ 7.30 a.m.; length of the trip approx. 5 minutes) with APS bus no. 18 take the Ponte di Brenta direction (on Sundays and
holidays, the bus is no. 12) i.e. the bus leaving from the bus-stop located in the square of the railway station opposite to
the railway building and driving along via Niccolò Tommaseo; get down after the Exhibition Centre at the stop called “via
Venezia Università”; then turn to the right on the side road via Venezia to get straight to the Portello.
By the SITA busses from Venice: the SITA busses (on Wednesdays and Fridays) leave from Piazzale Roma at 7.00 a.m. and
reach Padua around 7.40 a.m.; get off at the bus stop on via Niccolò Tommaseo, at the BMW car dealership, and take the
side road called via Venezia to immediately reach the Portello (approx. ticket cost is € 4.10 save variations).
By the ACTV busses from Venice: the ACTV busses no. 53 leave from Piazzale Roma at 6.25 a.m. on Saturdays and at 6.10
a.m. on Sundays or holidays; get off at the bus stop on via Niccolò Tommaseo, at the BMW car dealership, and take the
side road called via Venezia to immediately reach the Portello (approx. ticket cost is € 5.50 save variations).
By car: leave the A4 motorway at the Padova Est exit, take the road to the city centre and drive on via Venezia to get to
the car parks (identified by the blue sign with the letter “P” on map no. 2).
Parking places (see enclosed MAP OF PADUA, blue signs with the “P” letter):
Unsheltered paid car park on via Trieste - Piazzale Boschetti, at the hourly cost of € 1.70, open 24 hours a day; then walk
along the river promenade to the Portello.
Sheltered paid car park on via Trieste, at the hourly cost of € 1.70, open 24 hours a day; then walk along the river
promenade to the Portello.
Free parking spaces on via Portello or via Loredan, located on the opposite bank to the embankment; then reach the
embarkation point by crossing the Portello Gate and its relevant bridge.

» Stra: the meeting is set at 9.30 a.m. at the entrance to Villa Pisani and the embarkation, after the visit to the Villa, is on the
wharf in front of the Villa.
