Depart from Minneapolis to Athens, Greece.

Day 2 Saturday! !
Arrival Athens|Nafplio!
Make a connection in Europe and continue to Athens with a late
afternoon arrival. Meet your professional guide who will be with you for
the duration of the tour. Depart from Athens to the Peloponnese crossing
the Cornith Canal en route. Make a brief stop at ancient Corinth. Since
1896, systematic archaeologic excavations have revealed large parts of
the ancient city. Check in to your hotel in nearby Nafplio, a seaport town
on the Peloponnese. Enjoy a Welcome Dinner at the hotel. !

Day 3 Sunday! !
Peloponnese|Nafplio!
Today visit ancient Mycenae, where 19th century excavations reveal
impressions of the splendors so vividly described by Homer. Admire the
Beehive tombs, the Treasury of Atreus, Lion Gate--Europe’s oldest
known monument, the remains of Agamemnon’s Royal Palace and the
impressive fortifications of the Citadel. Continue to Epidaurus to see the
amazingly well-preserved 2,300-year-old open-air theatre. Also visit the
Sanctuary of Asclepius. Return to Nafplio. Evening concert.

Day 4 Monday! !
Nafplio|Delphi!
Check out and depart through the Peloponnese, crossing the RionAntirion suspension bridge that connects to the mainland. Make a stop
for lunch in the quaint fishing village of Nafpaktos with a possible
outdoor afternoon concert. Continue to Delphi for an overnight stay.
Check into the hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening in this charming
seaside town. Enjoy a late dinner at the hotel.!

Day 5 Tuesday !
!
Delphi|Athens!
Check out and make a morning visit to the ancient sanctuary of the god
Apollo in its dramatic setting on the slope of Mount Parnassus. Hear
about the Oracle and tour the excavations. The ruins of the temple date
to the 4th century B.C. The Hippodrome and theatre are located up the
hill. Later visit the Delphi Archeological Museum to see the Charioteer
of Delphi and the life-size Greek statues of the brothers, Kleobis and
Biton. Make a stop in the nearby charming village of Arachova, famous
for its bright multi-colored carpets and a marvelous soft cheese.
Continue to Athens. Check in at the hotel and enjoy a buffet dinner. B/D

Day 6 Wednesday!
Athens !
Today we tour the classical sights including the Parthenon, high atop the
Acropolis. See the Erechtheum with its Porch of Maidens, the Roman
Temple of Zeus and the Agora where Socrates taught. In the afternoon,
visit the National Archeological Museum of Athens. It is the largest
museum in Greece, and one of the most important museums in the
world devoted to ancient Greek art. !Dinner and concert this evening.!

Day 7 Thursday! !
Saronic Islands|Athens
Travel to the Trocadero Terminal at Maria Flisvos where you board your
cruise ship and depart for the Greek Island. Your first stop is the Island
of Aegina where you have the option to visit the 5th century BC Temple!
of Afaea, rising above the breathtaking scenery of dark green pines and
the deep blue sea. Continue to the small island of Poros. Walk along the
winding streets and lemon trees to the panoramic clock tower with a
view of the Peloponnese. After lunch on the ship, continue to Hydra, one
of the most cosmopolitan of the Greek islands. Return to Athens. Enjoy a
special Farewell Dinner with live music in the Plaka.
