Cold Cars Coast to Coast: Ok, I confess I just liked
the title for this, with all the Cs. Rail car shipping is
not new. What’s new is consolidating West Coast
loads on their way to different retailers and running
the consolidated loads to near Albany, NY. Then
pears, carrots, citrus and apples destined for us are
unloaded onto trucks for
delivery to our distribution
centers in Rochester, NY or
Pottsville, PA. Since 2008,
we’ve arranged over 3,000
such loads with Railex, removing
almost 3,000 long haul trucks from the
highways and saving almost one million gallons
of diesel fuel. Embracing continuous improvement
and sustainability. Love it!
