It’s the 25th edition of this legendary race !
La Plagne training ground for runners and
hikers on 26 and 27 july !
6000D

It’s the 25 edition of this legendary race that was the
first of its kind. The 6000D is a real challenge for most trail
runners, taking competitors up the legendary ascension
to Bellecôte Glacier (3250m), before descending again
to the valley (670m). Now part of the National Trail Tour
calendar, the 6000D is even more renowned. Since last
year, the course has diverted to go through the Olympic
Bobsleigh track at km 10 on the way up.
Departure from Aime at 6.am on staurday 26 july.
End of the race at 6.30pm.

8 edition of this race that follows the path of the famous 6000D, taking footpaths up to the Roche de Mio
at 2700m altitude. It’s an excellent preparation for the
6000D, or a good alternative, easier than the 6000D
since it follows the same trail, but without going right
up to the Glacier. Departure from Plagne Bellecôte at
8.30am on staurday 26 july.

4 edition of this race that allows the general public
(beginner, intermediate or expert level, juniors and
teens) to take part in the weekend of the 6000D. This
trail takes you through all La Plagne’s altitude villages
on footpaths. Departure at 9.30am from Plagne Bellecôte on staurday 26 july.

With Garmin GPS
After the Giants race, discover the 6D Kids. An activity
for children and teenagers (from 6 to 16yrs) to do as a
family or with a guide. The principal is simple; equipped with your GPS, provided especially for the occasion by our partner Garmin, you will discover Aime
and solve the riddles hidden around town.
This discovery race based on a treasure hunt is open
to all and will give you the opportunity to discover the
leisure and heritage of Aime. Young adventurers don’t
wait any longer! and be the first to discover the highly
sought after treasure. On Sunday 27th july.

Event
Beton On Fire
August 16-17, 2014 at the Olympic Bobsleigh Track of
la Plagne !
For the 3rd consecutive year, La Plagne is hosting the SEBA Beton on
Fire event on its Olympic bobsleigh track! The in-line skate, longboard, luge and buggy rollin’ competition will take place on Saturday
16th and Sunday 17th August. There will be an event village at bend
16 of the track to welcome the whole community of roller sports (sports
clubs, equipment brands, machine manufacturers and partners).
Entry for the public is completely free, so don’t miss this extreme sports
rendez-vous!

Urban Plagne
August 18-20, 2014 in Plagne Bellecôte !
This 100% free festival of altitude urban riding culture is celebrating its 10th anniversary! The concept is staying
faithful to its two main aspects: the skating and flat & street BMX competitions and the World Skate Cross Series
event on the one hand; and the urban culture demos and initiations on the other, with the best artistes and athletes showing off their talent: capoeira, graffiti, hip-hop, parkour, slackline, urban stilt walking, circus arts, DJing,
BMX... with all the disciplines open for the public to try.
If you are looking for thrills, come and try jumping your bike onto the air bag.
Rendezvous at the 2000m² Urban Park in Plagne Bellecôte, where there is plenty to see and
maybe tempt you to try out new riding experiences!

Falconry show – Nature workshops
Tuesday 15th, 22nd & 29th July and 5th, 12th & 19th August
A number of workshops and games allow your children
to discover nature in a different way. Our presentation
of the panorama with commentary helps you to understand the unique and magical environment of the
mountains. The key moment of the day is the Falconry
spectacle of the Rapaces du Léman in a 40 minute show
above your head ...Thrills guaranteed!
The Bear – Discovering Savoie
Thursday 17th, 24th & 31st July and 7th, 14th & 21st August
2.20 m tall! The Bear is one of the mythical wild animals
that is impossible to get close to in the wild... we are
offering you the possibility of living this exceptional experience every week of the summer in La Plagne.
The day will also be our chance to demonstrate Savoyard know-how: from gastronomy to craftsmanship,
via Savoyard folklore, products, traditions and legends...
An extraordinary day that will reveal one surprise after

Bobsleigh track
For who ? family - Difficulty level : green - Remember : appropriate shoes, picnic
Leaving from Plagne Centre, just past the biomass heating plant, take the path
that goes towards the Lac Vert, a lovely picnic spot with a beautiful panoramic
view of Mont Blanc. Continue on down towards the bobsleigh track (free leaflet
from any info point). All along the track, there are notice boards that explain
the construction of the track. You can take the La Roche chairlift back up (prices
on page 20).
The top tip : Every wednesday, «Timed climb» at the bobsleigh track !

For who ? family - Remember : picnic
For all the family (not advised for children under 2, no dogs allowed).
Take the Funiplagne up to the Grande Rochette (prices on page 20).
Theme day: Tuesday, falconry display; Thursday, show with a bear.
You can either take the Funiplagne back down from the Grande Rochette, or
walk down along the Grande Rochette path (about 2 ½ hrs walk). There are
fantastic views along the path and notice boards explaining the flora and fauna and giving information about the resort. The path comes down next to the
Funiplagne station in Plagne Centre.

For all the family (not advised for children under 3), plan to leave in the morning (when the weather is good)
Take the gondola up from Plagne Bellecôte (prices on page 20).
For parents, a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains. For kids, visit of the ice grotto inside the glacier with fabulous sculptures to look at. Take the gondola back down to the Roche de Mio.
There, you can walk up to the viewpoint indicator that is just above the gondola station with a superb 360° panoramic
view.
From there, you have 2 possibilities: taking the gondola all the way back down to Plagne Bellecôte, or walking down
the path that goes past the Lac des Blanchets (about 2 ½ hrs walk with children). Once you get to the path above Belle
Plagne, you can either keep following it to get to any of the other villages or take the free shuttle bus from Belle Plagne.

You can take the Echobus.
Culture enthusiasts can discover the different monuments in the valley
(Tour Montmayeur, Basilique Saint Martin, Musée Pierre Borionne).
Sports lovers can take the cycle path that goes from Aime to Bourg Saint
Maurice (12.5 km along the Isère river) with the possibility of stopping for
a swim at the lake.
The Echobus can drop families off directly at the lake where you will find
a beach adapted for children, a play area, barbecues and basketball
nets…

Each to their own !
For who ? adults - Remember : appropriate shoes, picnic
Sports and creative activities for him and her. Choice of a morning jog for the men and Zumba for the ladies. You can meet
up afterwards for a short walk (about 20 mins) leaving from Plagne Centre to enjoy a picnic together by the Lac Vert. In the
afternoon, we look forward to seeing you in Plagne Bellecôte for the “Wednesday free-for-all” with the activities team.

The Urban park includes several sports and recreation areas:
- A skatepark with obstacles specially made for skateboarding and bends better suited to rollerblades and freestyle bmx.
- A Bike Park for high levels trial biking and with obstacles suited to beginners.
- An area for flat bmx and for teatching skateboarding and rollerblading for beginners.
- A PUMPTRACK to optimise your effectiveness on a bike and your riding whatever your level.

Walking it
Walk the 19 bends of La Plagne’s Olympic Bobsleigh track!
The track was built in La Roche and snakes around the old village.
The site was chosen for the 1992 winter Olympic event and work
started on November 8th, 1988.
You can also visit the arboretum that goes along the track.

The glacier
Kike on the Glacier
A short hike on the Bellecôte glacier with a High Mountain Guide. An
easy discovery circuit of around 1 hour on the snow and ice. Walk on the
Glacier roped up to your Guide, learn the techniques of ice walking and
the use of an ice pick, ice spikes and ice screws.
Discover the life of a glacier, the consequences of global warming, and
the trade of a high mountain guide. Open to all from 7 years of age.
Equipment required : hiking boots, on hire in most sports shops or with
your Guide.

Starting from Plagne Centre, Plagne Aime 2000 or
Plagne 1800, come and explore the Lac Vert.
You can have a picnic, use the barbecues and enjoy the
facilities available to you...
«Blanchets» lake
(Alt. 2300m)
Located in the Plagne Bellecôte area, near the Col
de Forcle, this lake is the main drinking water reservoir supplying the resort of la Plagne. You cannot get close to the reservoir and its banks are
fenced off. Notices placed all around it explain the
main hygiene regulations to be followed. The interesting surroundings and geographic
location
make this a rest area much appreciated by hikers.
«Carroley» lake
Lakes
(Alt. 2186m)
You will be charmed by the peaceful setting of this
mountain lake located just behind the summit of the
Arpette in the Plagne Bellecôte area. With a little luck,
fishing enthusiasts might even hook the legendary Fario
trout. Fishing permit required.
You can reach this lake on foot by following marked trail
from Belle Plagne.
Allow half a day’s walking.
The «col de Forcle» reservoir
Built in 2004, it holds 100 000m3 of water which can produce 200 000m3 of artificial snow, enough to cover 8km
of piste 30m wide. A leisure basin of 2 000m3 surrounds
the reservoir, making it the perfect spot for a picnic or to
watch the marmots.

On a 10 metre climbing wall, specially fitted out for children to learn climbing

We would love to see you any Wednesday this summer from July 9th to August 20th from 10.30am to 4pm (last rentals at 4pm). Come and row quite
safely on the turquoise waters of the Lac Vert overlooking Mont Blanc.
The kayaks are stable, wide and easy to row so they are adapted to all
ages and sizes. The lake is just below all high altitude resorts.
PRICES : Rental 7€ for 30 minutes, includes oars and obligatory life jacket,
as well as advice from a state-qualified instructor.
Remember to bring clothes to change into, a towel and closed shoes that you can
wear in the water. You must be able to swim 25m and go under water.

Cataraft
This mini catamaran type raft for 4, steered by means of a paddle, gives the
crew all the thrills of water-sport and a
sense of control. You must be over 14
and able to swim.
White water swimming
Using an individual streamlined float or
hydrospeed, the swimmer is equipped
with a full wet suit and flippers. To take
part, you must be over 12 and able to
swim. You will tackle the waves solo under the watchful eye of your guide.

Kayak with «la plagne eaux vives»

We welcome beginner to expert rowers from Tuesday
to Friday in a natural, family-friendly environment at the
Base de Loisirs at the Versants d’Aime (reservoir at Le
Gothard between Aime and Bellentre). You can enjoy
learning and progressing quite safely in calm waters
or on white water. If you want a thrill, try going down
the Isère river on an air-boat (an inflatable single place
boat). You must be able to swim 25 m and go under water.
Prices : range from 15€ to 40€, with 10% reduction for

Equipment needed: a bathing suit, a towel, closed
shoes that you can wear in the water… and that’s all!

Rafting
Discover white water sports through rafting, an original way to explore the Isère Valley, home to the world
canoeing championships. Rafts carrying groups of 8
are paddled downstream under the supervision of a

A 15 km cycle trail runs from Aime to Bourg St Maurice. You can
cycle, jog or roller blade in peace and tranquillity amidst the greenery and cool of the banks of the Isère.

The Base de Loisirs is a bathing spot overseen in the
afternoon by bathing attendants and is equipped for
children’s games with ping-pong tables and picnic
areas and barbecues. It can be reached on foot, on
rollerblades or by bike along the cycle trail wich runs
from Aime.

The acro-bungee course at the lake is open every day
from 10.30am (Saturday 2pm). Minimum weight 15
kilos.

The Water Ball activity is for children (from age 5) and
adults. It’s a very simple idea that consists of walking on
the water inside a large ball, but keeping your balance
isn’t always as easy as it sounds! We have 8 water balls,
