WOW! What a great Concours d’ Elegance, beautiful weather, beautiful cars and beautiful people. Two of our newest members and first time entrants, John Brown and Jens Troest, both won trophies in their respective classes. Thanks again to all
who helped pull it off. For those of you that missed the Afterglow, lots of pictures starting on page 16. Mark Hodges did a
great job of putting together a fantastic slide show for the event and breaking the old tradition of late audio visual start up.
Starting in September, our Board of Director meetings will begin at 7:00 PM. It seems that 6:30 was too early for some of
our Board members to recover from their afternoon naps. Remember that any member is welcome to attend a Board meeting. Bring your concerns or just listen in.
It is not too late to sign up for the Bowl-o-Rama on September 12th. See details in this issue. This is an attempt to get
some of our younger members involved in club events. Even if you are unable to bowl, stop by and have a libation while
you watch others excel in the sport.
See page 7 for interesting non-club events coming up in September. By September 1st, I should have passes for the car
corral at the Coronado Speed Fest on 19-20 September. Let me know and I’ll send you a pass for your car which allows
you to park inside the venue.

and have their shoes.”

51st Annual SDJC Concours d’Elegance
Spanish Landing Park, San Diego CA, August 9, 2015
Article and photos by Jim Hallameyer, Editor
The 51st Annual Concours d’Elegance of the San Diego Jaguar Club came off without a hitch on Sunday, August 9, 2015.
The beautiful day featured our signature San Diego weather.
But, this was in stark contrast to three weeks prior when we
were forced to cancel the show because Hurricane Dolores
crashed the party by sending rain along with thunder and
lightning storms into the area.
However, Concours Chairman, Dan Jensen, and Chief Judge,
Paul Novak, were not to be deterred. With the help of our President, George Klein, and numerous Club members, the show
was rescheduled and put back together in just three weeks
time. Most of the entrants were able to make the new date, 65
in all, and were rewarded with a great Concours experience.
Chief Judge Paul has provided a list of winners See page 15
in this issue of the Jaguar Tracks. Congratulations to all the
particpants who made the second effort to prepare their cars
for judging and were rewarded with a trophy. Also, thank you
to all the entrants who provided their cars for display. They all
looked beautiful on the field. Last, but not least, we are grateful
to Richard Farler and the staff at Jaguar San Diego for their
sponsorship and display of new Jaguars on the show field.
It takes a great deal of effort and many Club members pulling
together to make the Annual Concours a success. We should
all have a great sense of satisfaction for all the effort expended.
Kudos to all and cigars all around!

News from Members
Best in Show and winner in
Class C1/PRE at the 51st Annual
SDJC Concours d’Elegance is this
beautifully restored 1935 SS1 Tourer.
The car was a true labor of love. Owners Colin Seid, Allan Seid, and Richard Annis, report the SS1 was found in Florida after spending more
than 30 years, unrestored and in pieces, at the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis. The car arrived in California in boxes, wrapped for
shipment as you see in the photo above. Two years of meticulous restoration has brought the car to its present concours winning condition.
It is believed to be one of only five survivors of this model in existence today.
SDJC Members Eddie Broderick, Wright Benson and Steve Hawley attended the 24th Annual
Automotive Heritage Day car show on August 8, 2015. This event, hosted by the National City
Chamber of Commerce, was held on the grass at National City’s spacious Kimball Park. More
than 219 vehicles were on display. Eddie’s beautiful 1967 Jaguar E-Type Coupe was awarded
the prestigious “Director’s Choice
Best of Show” trophy. A great day
was had by all who attended.
That’s Eddie on the left with his
trophy. The accompanying photos
of his car were taken at an event
last year at Jaguar San Diego. It
turns out not one of this trio took a
picture of Eddie at the show!
