MEN ARE LIKE WAFFLES, WOMEN ARE LIKE
MEN ARE LIKE WAFFLES, WOMEN ARE LIKE SPAGHETTI The ability to read people and communicate clearly are essential tools for everyone. Even if we are technically speaking the same language, not everyone hears what you may be saying in the way that you mean it. After reading the book “Men are like Waffles, Women are like Spaghetti” it made the picture of Men and Women a lot clearer and gave me a greater understanding of communication between Men and Women. This has helped me immensely to improve my Ability to Understand and to Communicate More Effectively. The premise of the book is that men tend to divide their thinking up into boxes that have room for one issue and one issue only. Women, on the other hand, tend to process life more like a plate of pasta. If you look at a plate of spaghetti, you’ll see lots of individual noodles all touching one another. If you follow one noodle around the plate, you’ll see that it intersects with lots of other noodles. You might even switch to another noodle seamlessly. This is how women tend to face life – every thought and issue connected to every other thought and issue. Life tends to be much more of a process for women than for men. The differences in how we process information, solve problems, and make decisions can create misunderstandings between men and women when they are trying to communicate with each other. Knowing how to communicate more effectively when you are talking with someone who may have a ‘communication style’ that is different from your own can mean the difference between failure and success. I have attached the first 24 pages of “Men are like Waffles, Women are like Spaghetti” so you can enjoy this information for yourself. I hope that you find it as enlightening and insightful as I did! If you want to read the book in its entirety, “Men are like Waffles, Women are like Spaghetti” was written by Bill and Pam Farrel and published by Harvest Hous Publishers in 2001.
