(Makes approximately 48 cake pops)
• Using box cake mix, bake a cake in a 9” x 13” pan. Let cool
thoroughly (at least 4 hours, ideally 24 hours).
• Once the cake has cooled, cut off the harder edges and corners
and discard. Crumble the cake into a large bowl.
• Add frosting to the crumbled cake—a little bit at a time—and mix
with your hands until cake is moist and can hold a ball shape.
• Use a mini ice cream or coffee scoop, and spoon out balls of cake mixture.
• Roll the mixture into a tight ball and place on a baking sheet lined with wax paper.
Repeat until all the cake mixture has been rolled into balls. Take a skewer and put
a hole about half-way through each ball for the lollipop stick.

• Melt 2–4 ounces of white chocolate in a microwave.
• Dip the tip of the cake pop sticks into the white
chocolate and insert into the hole in the cake pop.
NO, NOt yet ChOmpster.
• First, freeze the cake balls for about 20 minutes.
This will secure the lollipop stick.
• Right before the 20 minutes are up, melt the remaining white
chocolate in a large cup in the microwave. Make sure you have
enough chocolate to completely submerge each cake ball.
• Remove cake balls from freezer.
• Dip cake balls carefully into the white chocolate until covered.
Let the excess chocolate drip off. Swirl and tap gently if needed.
• Pepper the blue sprinkles all around cake balls while the chocolate is still wet.
(Note: the chocolate will harden quickly.)
TIP: Want to use food coloring to make the dipping mix blue? Use candy
melts instead of white chocolate for the coating and add blue food
coloring. The food coloring will take better to the candy melts.
• Stick the decorated cake pop into . . .
NO, ChOmpster. NOt yet.
• Stick the cake pop into a styrofoam
block to finish setting.
TIP: Place into the freezer to speed up setting time.
