Club Officers: President Ken Scott President’s Message Hello Coastal Carolina Corvette Club members and let's enjoy this month of July. Right now, there are not a lot of activities going on through the hot and humid days of July. But if you decide to get involved with an event or show outside, just keep hydrated Activities and cool. Know your limits and do not push yourself too hard. Kim Sheldon As the 2015 year is beginning to wind down towards the 2016 year, it's time for the Coastal Carolina Corvette Club members to prepare for nomination for all elected offices. Please speak with a club member first before nominating them if they desire to VP – Social run for an office. The voting will take place at the October 2015 meeting, and you have to be in good standings in order to vote Activities and hold an office. If you're not sure about your standings in the club, check with the VP Membership, Christine Van Leir, about your standings in order to vote or hold an elected office. More will be explained at our August 2015 meeting. Kris Daugherty VP – Membership Our next super Saturday show in September 2015 is going to involve Pet Helpers as our charity, please let's not forget to bring in some items for this charity for the comfort of these animals. Also, let's not forget to keep continuing to bring in our door prizes Christine Van Leir for t he u pcoming show as well, too. Let's keep up the good work and support our community involving these charities. Secretary Lastly, our cruise to the Fillin' Station in Hollywood, SC, was a really good turn out of club members having a very delightful meal Liz Furmanek and f ellowship to follow afterwards. We braved the heat and humidity and made the best of a good time there. Also, I would like to give Bob Driscol and Kim Sheldon a super big thanks in getting the Mt. Pleasant Chevrolet car show organized with the overall car lot situation resolved with the dealership. That's all for right now and continue to enjoy driving your Corvettes. Thank you to Mt Pleasant Chevrolet, Joe Sarro and Wayne Goss, for being so accommodating to the club and show participants. They have expressed a desire to sponsor a show again next year in May. th

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS – Kim Sheldon Our second show of the season was held for the first time at Mount Pleasant Chevrolet. The weather was a “little” hot, OK VERY HOT! That probably kept club car count down, but we had twenty club Corvette’s in attendance. Thanks to all you hardy souls who braved the heat. We had the same top “3” from Vette’s doin Charleston just in different finishing positions. Congratulations to John & Barbara Ditmore for taking first place with their 1962 Convertible, Dennis & Kathy Smail and their 65 Convertible in second, and Bill & Regina Johnson and their 63 Split Window rounding out the top three. As for the season standings, John & Barbara swapped positions with Bill & Regina to take the top spot after two shows, with Dennis & Kathy remaining in third. The biggest improvement in the season standings goes to two cars that jumped nine places since Vette’s doin Charleston! Mac and Brenda McDonagh with their 2014 Coupe moved from 18th to 9th place. While Bob & Mary Driscoll and their 2015 Coupe moved from 22nd to 13th place. Also for those new to the club, the third column on the season standing shows the change from the previous show’s standings. The symbol NC stands for no change, (+ and a number) stands for the number of places improved, while (– and a number) stands for the number of places lost. Results of the June 20, 2015 Mt. CHARITY REPORT – Jackie Holst Low Country Food Bank was at our July meeting and accepted a $475.00 check. The money came from our show that was cancelled in May. Low Country Food Bank was the charity that we as members chose for that show. Crews Chevrolet was the sponsor and generously told us we could keep the money and give to the charity of our choice. I felt since we voted on the Low Country Food Bank that is where the money should go. They were thrilled to receive the money.
