THE GROUP EXPERIENCE
EXPERIENCE A TRUE TASTE OF MEXICO
The “Secretos de la Familia” (Family Secrets) program offers an insider’s perspective on
local culture via a series of unique offerings that showcase the destination’s most
intriguing traditions.
TEQUILA
EDUCATION
PROGRAM
Learn the history of this popular Mexican spirit with a proper
tasting. CasaMagna Marriott Puerto Vallarta grows its own blue
agave on property in the cactus garden, and is one of only a few
resorts in the world with a proprietary brand of tequila, Its five
varieties include: blanco, joven, reposado, añedjo and extra añejo.
MEET
AUDREY
Authentic Mexican tequila, such as the CasaMagna tequila, is made
to be “sipped” in order to savor the flavor. An art form that
requires the proper training, the resort offers the expertise of
Audrey Formisano, Tequila Sommelier, who hosts weekly tastings in
La Cava wine cellar.
The experience is an extension of the “Secretos de la Familia”
program, developed to educate guests in the name of good,
Mexican tequila.
If you’re a Marriott Rewards members, you can enjoy the
experience on the house, otherwise the cost is $15 USD.
Additionally, the resort offers more than 60 brands, presenting114
tequilas by the glass.
SECRETOS DE LA FAMILIA
TRAVEL LIKE A LOCAL
Make sure to head to Las Casitas on the beach on
Tuesdays and Fridays at sunset so you don’t miss out on
complimentary guacamole making lessons! Then sit down
for your very own freshly-made bowl and enjoy as the
sun sets over the Pacific.
SEA TURTLE
RESCUE PROGRAM
In the summer months, biologists commissioned by the
Marriott comb the beaches to preserve and protect sea
turtle nesting areas. Since the program started 11 years
ago, more than 4,000 nests have been incubated at the
hotel’s nursery, and over 1,200 incubated naturally at the
beach.
This is a family favorite. Children staying at the resort
have the chance to name their tiny sea turtles, gather at
sunset with their families to wish them luck and set them
free to return to the ocean.
CATCH OF THE DAY
Bringing Puerto Vallarta’s fishing village history to life, the
resort’s Catch of the Day program brings local fishermen
to the resort’s beach where guests can choose the catch
that most catches their eye. Offered Friday and Saturday,
the resort’s chefs are on-hand to make preparation and
pairing suggestions. By participating, guests are also
making a difference by supporting a local, historic
industry.

painting, bilingual folktales and even cooking lessons. The
cost of $30 per day per child includes lunch, t-shirt and
discovery adventure booklet.
