May be muddy in parts. • Buses are hourly to / from Stanbury so plan your journey time. You can visit the Ponden Mill shop and Tearoom near to the finish of the walk leaving the mill with enough time to get back up the hill in to Stanbury for the bus. • Take care of traffic when walking on narrow country roads and lanes. For details of further activity in the area see Wear clothing and footwear appropriate to the conditions and time of year. www.wymetro.com www.aktivedirectory.org.uk 1 Look for these waymarkers along the route The Route: From Hob Hill cross over the road and turn left to walk down the hill on the right-hand side of the road facing oncoming traffic. 2 Walk to the bottom of the hill you will come to the cottages on the right and the entrance to Ponden Mill on your left. Cross the road and walk along the road into Ponden Mill leaving the main road. Walk past the front of the mill and follow the road on and round to the left to walk up to the Reservoir embankment. Ordnance Survey Licence Number 100015079 Ordnance Survey OL21 5 4 6 7 3 2 1 3 At the top of the embankment continue on following the road that runs along the length of the reservoir, do not take any of the other paths or cross the reservoir. 4 Follow the road and continue turning right up the hill you will come to a very old house Ponden Hall. Turning left at Ponden Hall walk up through the houses and farm ignore the footpath to the left and take the path on the right. 5 You should now be able to see the reservoir again in the bottom walk along past the farmhouse and follow the path down hill. At the corner there is a path going straight on ignore this path and carry on down the hill to the right. The path is walled at either side at the bottom of the hill turn right and walk to the road. Turn right and walk along following the main road, keeping to the right-hand side of the road. 6 The road passes along side the reservoir, carry on until coming to the reservoir embankment at the end of the reservoir turn right and walk across the reservoir. 7 On reaching the other side you turn left to walk down the lane retracing your steps back to the Mill. Call in and have a look around there is also the tearoom. Leave the Mill at the main entrance where you went in off the main road and walk back up the hill to the bus stop at Hob Hill in Stanbury.
