These leads are seldom fully qualified and are rarely followed up properly. At a time when connecting with prospects after the event is tougher than ever, it’s vital that you gain commitment on the stand. This requires minimal effort and guarantees to maximise your return on investment. Finish the show with a diary full of firm appointments not just a desk full of leads – we’ll tell you how. If 80% of your results at any exhibition depend on the effectiveness of your people, have you identified the tasks that they are supposed to perform? And have you identified the right people to perform them? Should these people come from your own company? Let alone your own sales force – or should they come from outside? Or should there be a mix? John Blaskey outlines the four key tasks to be performed on any exhibition stand and the skill set needed by those who should perform them. A wide variety of case histories will be detailed to illustrate the potential of correctly staffed stands. And the all important final ingredient – showing your staff how to generate only positive visitor buy-in brings the whole exhibiting process to a successful achievement of an exhibitor’s objectives. Paddy Power Paddy Power has worked in the Exhibition industry for 15 years, for most of that time in Sales Management and Training Roles. As well as working with many UK companies, Paddy has worked in the US, Australia and Hong Kong. Paddy is Head of Training for Nimlok and runs regular successful exhibiting workshops. Many of these are tailored for the specific requirements of individual companies. Most recent successes include work for the NHS, MOD and VT Group. He is particularly focused on seeing exhibitions as part of the broader business objective. 11:15am A2 In Brief - Getting the best value from your designer Getting the brief right is an integral part of a successful exhibition stand. Get it wrong and the whole process is fraught with difficulty and disappointment. Get it right and the results are spectacular. This seminar covers the steps you need to take to make sure you select the right partner, set the right objectives and ensure a working relationship which delivers the outcomes you want. • What to think about before you even speak to your exhibition service provider • What to look for in a partner • The essential first steps • Practical Objective setting • Balancing aesthetics, logistics, project management and budgets In short, a guide to preparing and writing that essential document on which your exhibition success depends and how to maximize the results and value you achieve as a result. Thursday 29th June 2006 10:00am A1 Exhibition leads are a waste of time… John Blaskey John Blaskey, Managing Director of The Exhibiting Agency has been in the exhibition business for over 30 years. John Blaskey has planned, manned and managed exhibition experiences for clients such as AGFA, La-Z-Boy, Scottish Equitable, Astra Zeneca, EDF Energy and First National. His unorthodox approach to exhibiting challenges existing habits. His maxim: “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always had,” sums up his approach to closed minded exhibit managers. Enjoy his interactive and humorous approach to the most exciting marketing medium available – the exhibition. 2:00pm A4 Create, Inspire, Innovate Creative exhibiting is about more than a clever idea. It’s about understanding how exhibitions work and how creative thinking can deliver remarkable results. If you want straight forward answers to exhibition issues, inspiration that changes your perspective and practical solutions that deliver immediate results then this is the perfect session for you. One delegate last year described this as “Pimp my Exhibition Stand!”. A panel of some of the most knowledgeable and creative minds in the world of exhibitions bring their insight and experience to bear for the benefit of your next exhibition stand. Come with your challenges, dilemmas and frustrations, leave energized, enthused and inspired! Four exhibition gurus inspire, excite and invigorate your next exhibition stand. 10:00am A5 'How to measure the effectiveness of your event' • Understand the 5 steps of the ROI Methodology • Develop an evaluation plan for a specific meeting or event • Calculate the Return on Investment • Identify intangibles linked to a meeting or event Peter Haigh Peter Haigh has worked in hotel sales and marketing for over 25 years at Corporate, Regional and individual property level. Exhibiting Show - Visitor Registration & Seminar Booking Form Seminar Programme 11:15am A6 Think different, act different - delivering outstanding results through creativity Why do companies invest heavily in stand design and build, site fees, logistics, invitations and advertising but nothing in preparing their stand personnel for the event? Often, companies fail to consider what they really want to achieve from attending a show and as such have no set or measurable objectives. It’s hardly a surprise when budgets are cut in following years! MPD has recognised that insufficient time and resource is dedicated to the initial planning stage and preparing stand personnel to deliver the intended results. In this session MPD helps you to identify your key objectives, how to pre-market your presence at an event, deliver robust briefings for the exhibiting team, provide on site stand management and evaluate overall business performance during the event. These are the fundamental components which deliver success but ironically, they are the key aspects that are all too often overlooked. Most companies seem to ignore the fact that people make exhibits work! Mayridge Performance Development MPD is the performance development division at Mayridge Group. They specialise in providing consultancy to understand exactly what a business wants to achieve by attending a show and more importantly how to make sure it happens. To help companies leverage their return on investing in an event, MPD has developed an innovative programme called ECHOES. Aimed at show team personnel this fun and energetic programme is designed to help teams prepare for their major performance.
