SPECIAL EXHIBITION 2012
In spite of the rainy weather, more than 800 visitors enjoyed the exhibition
“Hello Swallow” as well as many other activities offered.
EXCELLENCE WITH HONOUR
Here is an excerpt of the speech from our outgoing president, Lorraine
Desjardins, tracing a positive assessment of the last year.
“This exhibition aims at excellence. It has been a year of exceptional
dedication. In addition to our 9 activities in the regular calendar, Ikebana
International, Montreal Chapter radiated to the opening of the Maison
symphonique de Montréal as well as the celebration for the emperor of
Japan. Moreover we participated in la Nuit blanche de la Grande
bibliothèque. Can you remember the memorable presence in the
bronze room of the Musée des beaux-arts?”
ONE FLOWER IN A BUTTONHOLE
The Montreal chapter wanted to thank the Foundation
of the Japanese Gardens for its arduous collaboration.
For this occasion, Mrs. Andrée Kordich gave Mr. Claude
Gagné, founder and director of the Foundation, the
flowered pin of Ikebana International, naming him an
honorary member of the association.
THANK YOU!
Thank you to each member of the Montreal chapter who as been involved with the
organization of the exhibition under the direction of Madeleine Murphy and to all the
