Introducing the NEW BM5610 Bodymaker Can Size Flexibility Efficiency Flexibility Machine Stroke is dependent on 3 things: Cup feed Nme Toolpack length Can discharge Flexibility Increasing the Machine Stroke leads to higher ram acceleraNons & Dynamic loads 610 mm stroke gives the opNmum balance between speed & flexibility 610 Stroke mm Discharge Toolpack Cup feed Flexibility Toolpack length BM5610 Bodymaker Toolpack length: 273 mm 273 mm (10.75”) 273mm is standard toolpack length for Ø66 x 500ml This means no compromises with toolpack geometry Flexibility Can discharge BM5610 Bodymaker Machine Stroke: 610 mm Can sizes: from Ø53 x 150ml up to Ø66 x 500ml Maximum untrimmed can:
182 mm Same Ram used for all height changes Flexibility BM5610 Dual Stroke Capability: 660 mm (26”) Can sizes: up to Ø66 x 568ml Maximum untrimmed can: 199 mm Flexibility BM5610 Bodymaker Machine Stroke: 610 mm BM5610 Bodymaker Machine Stroke: 660 mm •  All cans up to 500ml •  Same Ram for height changes •  Quick Change •  Cans up to 568ml / 1 pint • Made possible using patented Dual Stroke technology • Future-‐proof Efficiency
Efficiency CMB is commi]ed to reducing the running costs of New & ExisNng machinery Efficiency Typically, CMB 5000 Bodymakers have been fi]ed with Hydraulic clutches as standard. Hydraulic ‘Hybrid’ PneumaOc There are now 3 opOons to suit customer requirements Efficiency Hydraulic oil-‐fed clutches have been fi]ed to CMB5000 Bodymakers as standard since #001 Hydraulic PneumaOc The wet-‐running clutch has the ideal combinaNon of high performance & low wear. A possible d‘Hybrid’ isadvantage is the need for addiOonal pumps, slightly increasing energy usage. Efficiency Some CMB 5000 Bodymakers have been fi]ed with PneumaNc clutches on request. Hydraulic PneumaOc PneumaNc c‘Hybrid’ lutches have their merits, but use plant air, which disguises their actual energy usage Efficiency A 3rd opNon is now available: A dry-‐running, hydraulically actuated clutch Hydraulic No reliance on plant air, No need for addiNonal pumps ‘Hybrid’ PneumaOc This new clutch represents the opOmum soluOon for Energy efficiency Efficiency PneumaOc Hydraulic P More regular maintenance required with both types of dry running clutches Low wear Low maintenance Separate powerpack required to supply clutch oil O ‘Hybrid’ UNlises plant air Summary of available clutch opNons O No addiNonal pumps required, potenNal saving 3kW of power (compared to the standard Hydraulic type) O P Efficiency Reducing power consumpNon of exisOng & future machines CMB Bodymakers are supplied with a stand-‐alone hydraulic powerpack, providing enhanced convenience & funcNonality A package of Energy Efficiency measures are available from CMB to reduce Bodymaker power consumpOon Efficiency Reducing power consumpNon Variable Frequency drive pump control Hydraulic powerpack pumps can be controlled by Inverter drives Oil Flow is constantly monitored to ensure trouble-‐free operaNon Saving per Bodymaker ~ (Based on 7.7p / kWh) Gives a con5nuous saving throughout lifeNme of the machine Tests in-‐plant saved 3.5 kW per year Efficiency Reducing power consumpNon ‘Standby mode’ There are power savings to be made whilst a Bodymaker is not making cans – via the introducNon of a ‘Standby mode’ Standby mode has been tested in a plant with the potenNal for regular line control stops (eg: regular label changes) Tests in plant saved 4.5kW Saving per Bodymaker ~ per year (Based on 7.7p / kWh) Efficiency New Hybrid clutch reduces power requirement by up to 3kW VF driven pumps & flow-‐meter monitoring reduced power requirement by 3.5kW PotenNal saving per Bodymaker ~ (Based on 7.7p / kWh) Summary of Energy Efficiencies Reprogramming to introduce ‘standby mode’ reduced power requirement by 4.5kW per year These 2 opNons available as a retrofit to exisNng CMB bodymakers Efficiency VF driven pumps & flow-‐meter monitoring reduced power requirement by 3.5kW PotenNal saving per Bodymaker ~ (Based on 7.7p / kWh) Summary of Energy Efficiencies Reprogramming to introduce ‘standby mode’ reduced power requirement by 4.5kW per year Flexibility of the BM5610 Efficiency of the BM5610 Thank you
