Installation Guide
Special Notes
1. This device requires Microsoft Windows XP or 2000/SP4, as well as Microsoft DirectX 9.01a or
above. Please install those software properly before installing this device's software. DirectX
9.01a can be downloaded from Microsoft website <www.microsoft.com>.
2. Because USB DTV receiver consumes power directly from USB port while USB power is limited,
please disconnect all other USB devices and use only the USB DTV receiver whenever possible.
For example, when encountering the “USB Device Not Recognized＂error message when
connecting the USB DTV receiver, it is likely the USB power is already being used up by other USB
device(s) hence please disconnect all other USB devices to continue.
3. Please note that every USB port has an unique ID therefore every time the USB DTV receiver is
connected to an USB port that has never been connected before the system will prompt for
re-installation of the drivers, please follow the procedures of Driver Installation to install the drivers
properly. This situation is most obvious when using an USB Hub.
4. When encountering a system crash error when starting the DTV Application software it is possible
that there is a software conflict between some devices and the USB DTV receiver, it is recommended
to either re-install DirectX 9.01a or Windows and it should solve this problem.
Hardware Installation
1. Please connect the antenna directly to the hidden antenna connector first. Alternatively one can use
the enclosed antenna adapter to connect other types of antenna to the device.
2. Swing out the USB connector of the device and connect directly into any available USB 2.0 port of
the computer. Alternatively one can use the enclosed USB cord to connect the device to computer.
3. When Windows detect the device and prompt for driver installation, click "Cancel (C)".
Software Installation
1. Insert the enclosed software CD into the CD-ROM driver, and Windows will automatically start the
installation process. If installation does not automatically starts, go to the CD directory and execute
"setup.exe" to install the software and drivers. During installation, one can always click "Cancel
(C)" to stop and abort the installation.
2. Once the installation starts press "Next >" to continue installation. One can press "Cancel" to stop
the installation and exit.

3. When end-user license agreement is displayed, select the first item "I agree to the terms of this license
agreement", press "Next >" to continue.
4. Now enter name and company name, then press "Next >" to continue.
5. Now enter the serial number (marked as "CD-Key" on the cover of the CD disc) then press "Next >"
to continue.

6. Now select the correct language then press "Next >" to continue.
7. Now enter desired directory to place the application program (or use "Change...." to select).
default directory is C:\Programs Files\C&E\DTV. Then press "Next >" to continue.

8. Now enter the short cut name of the application (default is "DTV") then press "Next >" to continue.

9. Now system is ready to start installing, press "Next >" to continue.
10.Now system is installing files, please wait a while.
11.Now system is creating un-installing information, please wait.
12.Now application software is successfully installed, please select "Yes" to re-start computer, or press
"Finish" to end installation.

First Time Use Pen Receiver
1. Please connect antenna to the Receiver and connect the Receiver to the USB port of PC/NB;
2. In the DTVplayer directory run "DTVplayer.exe".
3. Click "Setup" (the wrench) icon on the lower-right corner of the remote controller to enter setup
menu.
4. In the Setup menu click on the "Scan Channel" tab to enter channel scan setup menu, click on
"Country/Area" and select the country or area, then click "Start" icon to start scanning channels.

5. If the country/area is France, click on "Enable Freq. Offset" then click "Start" icon to start
scanning channels.
6. Once the channel scan is finished all the found frequencies will be displayed in the table, click
"Save" then "OK" to save the frequency table, then just use the default values to save the file.

7. On the remote controller click the "My Favourite" icon to open the favourite program list.
8. Select a program then double click on it or click on the "S" icon.
9. Now watch the TV program.

User Guide
Welcome to DTV
DTV is an advanced software designed specifically for viewing and recording digital TV programs,
allowing viewers to watch digital TV programs on PC/NB. While watching digital TV programs you
can simultaneously perform real-time recording. Alternatively, you can also setup a later time for
scheduled recording.
It is worth mentioning that DTV provides multi-program preview function that allows you to preview
multiple programs then to select the desired program and switch over. In addition, TimeShift
provides a brand new viewing experience by allowing you to temporarily pause then replay the
missing portions at a later time so that you never have miss any part while grabing a pack of snack.
DTV even allows you to fast forward and rewind TimeShifted parts of programs.
DTV Control Panel
DTV Control Panel is shown as follows, you can switch to different part of the control panel depending on
different operation needs. Major functions of DTV can be controlled by buttons on the right of the Control
Panel and messages and/or status information are displayed on the left blue LCD part.

Main Menu Bar
By right-clicking the mouse while on the Control Panel the main menu bar will appear, as shown
below, the functions of the items on the menu bar is the same as the control buttons.

When selecting the “Aspect Ratio” or “Screen Size” items
the sub-menu will appear as follows:

Scale down to 60% of screen

Scan Tab
RF Frequency: Select from four different modes of "Country/Area", "All", "Range" and "Single".
Bandwidth: Select from three different bandwidths, 6, 7 and 8 Mhz.
FFT Mode: Select fro three different modes of "Auto", "2" (2K) and "8" (8K).
Start: Start scanning channels.
Stop: Stop scanning
Scan Progress: display channel scan progress
TV: display TV channels found
Radio: display radio channels found
Open: open an existing channel table file
Save: save channel table to a file
Save as: save channel table to another
file
Delete: delete a program item from the channel list
Delete All: delete all information in the list

Main Functions
TV / Radio Play
First of all, please search all channels available in the area by clicking on “Scan” tab to select from
four different channel search methods. Once scan is completed the list of the found TV and radio
channels will be displayed in the window, you can save the list for later easy access.
There few ways that allow for quick channel change, one is zapping by using "CH+", "CH-" and
"Recall" buttons, the other is double-clicking any program in the channel list in the “Scan” tab,
another is to right click mouse to open the main menu bar then select "Next CH", "Prevous CH" and
"Recall" items.

Recording
Real-time Recording
While watching TV program, one can click on the "Record" button on the Control Panel or "Record"
item in the main menu bar and start recording immediately.
Preset Recording
In “Record” tab one can double-click any empty item in the “Preset Record” and the preset recording
dialog will appear, by selecting channel and giving date and time of the desired program then “OK”
and the preset item will be set and displayed in the list. When recording is completed the preset
entry will be marked bu an “ok”.

Multi-Program Preview
DTV provides a multi-program preview function as follows that can display multiple programs on the
screen at the same time for quick and easy browse-through. One can use "CH+" and "CH-" buttons
on the Control Panel or "Next CH" and "Previous CH" items in the main menu bar to change
channels.

Teletext
By clicking on the “Teletex” button on the Control panel the Teletext window will appear on the
screen with Teletext information. Note that Teletext information must be broadcast by TV stations.
Electronic Program Guide (EPG)
By clicking on the “EPG” button on the Control Panel the EPG window will appear with EPG
information (based on DVB EIT). Note that EPG data must be broadcast by TV stations.
