Welcome to the 2017 Dymond USA catalog. With over 30 years of personalized customer service, Dymond is one of the first companies to specialize in electric aero modeling with a long history of industry support,
products, and RC enthusiast relationships. We have recently expanded

Our company president (Mr. Bob Grunden) is well known for his unique
insight in the provision of all lines carried by Dymond USA. Not only is
Mr. Grunden an experienced RC modeler but he is also retired president
of our local charlotte RC club and spends most of his weekends flying or
testing new Dymond USA products. Additionally our president continues to help support our community of flyers volunteering his supervision for special events like the Wounded Warrior program and off location events to provide the Dymond line products to our fellow RC
events throughout the United States.
Kathy continues to support Bob’s RC
passion after 44 years.

Never charge a lithium polymer battery with a charger designed for NiCd, NiMH, or any other type of battery
chemistry. Use ONLY chargers designed for LiPo batteries.
Always inspect he condition of the battery before charging and operating.
Do not charge batteries right after use. Give the battery 30 minutes to rest and cool down before charging.
Always remove the LiPo battery from model , if it is involved in crash. Carefully inspect the battery and connecters
for even the smallest amount of damage. CAUTION: cells may be hot. It is advised to allow the battery to rest for
15 minutes before handling. Discard damaged batteries with bent or kinked shape.
Do not charge LiPo cells on or near combustible materials including: paper, plastics, carpets, vinyl, leather, wood,
or inside an R/C model, full sixe automobile etc.
Always place the battery on a heat resistant surface when charging.
Always put the LiPo battery inside a charging protection container while charging.
Do not leave LiPo batteries unattended during charging.
Do not overcharge the battery.
Do not charge the battery out of recommended temperature range (32° F-113°F or 0°C-45°C.
Do not allow the LiPo cells to overheat at any time.
Always store LiPo cattery in a secure location away from children.
Do not store battery near open flame or heater.
Do not store batteries in hot cars, they may expand or even explode. Burns can occur. Cells reaching 140° Fahrenheit (60C) become damaged and become high risk for catching fire.
Do not discharge LiPo, doing so will damage the battery.
Do not expose LiPo cell to water or moisture at any time.
Do not assemble LiPo cells or pre-assembles packs together with other LiPo cells or packs.
Avoid direct contact with a leaky/damaged battery.
Do not allow the electrolyte to get into the eyes or on the skin. Wash affected areas immediately !
When clipping off connectors from a battery, clip one at a time, or you may short out the battery.
Do not alter or modify connectors or wires of a LiPo battery pack..
Do not try to open batteries to re-solder broken wires.
Do not short circuit the LiPo battery. Even a short touch of both poles when soldering is enough to ruin a battery.
Always solder one pole at a time and keep the other insulated.
Secure batteries with velcro or rubber bands in the airplane on a flat tray. Do not mix batteries when adding additional packs.
A fully charged battery put in storage can become unbalanced when Lipos are not used for an extended period
of time (a month or longer). To increase the life of the battery, do a storage charge. This will reduce the output
voltage to about 3.8V per cell. Batteries then can be stored for an extended period of time.
When a battery gets “puffy” to the touch it started gassing and has lost performance. It is best to discard the battery.
Lithium Polymer batteries are safe to dispose because they do not contain any harmful components or chemicals.
Discharge in a bucket of water with one soon of salt. The battery will slowly discharge in a day or two. Then it is
safe to throw away.
Failure to handle with recommended care may result in severe damage. For additional information, see the

IBE with regulator is a unique product that eliminates the need for a separate ignition battery
while providing an IMAA required transmitter controlled ignition kill switch. The versatile IBE can
be configured to power other systems providing transmitter switch control such as smoke pumps,
motors, lights, etc. You no longer have to worry about ignition interference, your ignition can be
safely powered through your receiver battery saving precious weight and eliminating the maintenance of an ignition battery. A wide range of powering configurations are available. IBE can be controlled by a switch
on your transmitter using a receiver channel, or simply come on when you power ON your model’s battery. Either way a
LED indicator light will show when your ignition is powered. IBE’s output voltage is configurable from approximately 4.7
volts thru 6.5 volts and is preset from the factory at 5.5 volts. IBE delivers 5 amps continuous and is compatible with 99.9%
of all ignitions on the market today. IBE can manage a wide range of input voltages, 4.8 volts through 16 volts. Unlike

needle valve setting throughout the

adjust the needle valve setting midflight, maintaining

Secure Flight (SF) provides 20A of
continuous power to ensure that
your flight services and controls do not suffer low-voltage
brownouts and loss of control of your aircraft. Heavy-duty JR,
Hitec, Futaba connectors can only deliver 3a, SF solves the
problem by providing to high amp Ultra Dean connectors, which can safely provide all the power you need from multiple or high current servos. SF is designed to provide JR, Hitec, Futaba, the compatibility connections to four output channels 1,2,5,6 and two output channels 3, 4, 6, 7. Each bank about books has her own servo connections so they are compatible with all receivers. The SF on-off switch provides complete control of your power system providing two unique
features; it does not carry high current for your system and if it becomes unplugged in flight, the power is still provided by
your receiver and your servos. The safety switch system consumes <10 micro amps (Ua). This is equal to about 50mAH of
battery drain per year. So it is not necessary to unplug the battery from the SF between flying sessions. If a plane is going
to be stored for a long period of time. We recommend that you unplugged the batteries.
The SF protects and powers your receivers with a regulated 5V supply providing p to 3 amps of current. If high-voltage
servos are being used the SF will deliver battery voltage of –0.2 V to them while providing 5 volts supply for standard servos connected to your receiver.

Gunther Powerful and high torque Inrunners. Preferred motor for gliders and small nose cone hotliners.
The largest 45/3 can swing a 12x6 prop and develops 1 HP with 3 cell Lipos. Vertical climbs even with large ships. Also
suitable for .56 size Warbirds.
The Gunther 30-3 (36mm diameter 5mm shaft) for Hotliners and 40-50” fast aircraft.

Why We Choose Dymond Servos
If this were a larger airplane or a 3D airplane, or if we were using a high-end super fast radio, we would have considered digital servos.
But in this airplane, and considering the radio we were using, we did not feel the need. So, we selected one of our favorite analog
servos, the D5000 MG BB from the Dymond website.
Of course, we like the specs on the D5000, but specs don’t tell it all. You can tell a lot about a product by looking at the quality of its
physical construction. To do that you need to open a servo, and here at EFM, we open a lot of them. We’re going to open some for
you to illustrate just a few things we look for and compare them to the Dymond’s.
In the photo below (A), note the metal gears and ball bearing on the Dymond 5000. Next to it is another well-known servo. It too has ball bearings. However, although its price is comparable to the
D5000 its gears are plastic.
After only 15 flights, note the broken gear tooth. Yes, the servo will continue to function. And a lot of modelers are flying around with
(unknowingly, of course) broken teeth on their plastic-geared servos
and can’t understand why their airplanes do not respond properly to
their control inputs. The message: LOOK INSIDE YOUR SERVOS!

In another well-known brand servo (below B) the amplifier is soldered directly to the motor. Vibration
from the rotating motor is transferred directly to the amplifier and the solder joint. We do not consider
this a good thing. Note: later in the photos of the Dymond 5000 that the motor is separated from the
amplifier by wires so motor vibration is not transmitted to the amplifier.
A still different, but No Name servo below, is mounted using only two screws. Ok, so that s not too unusual with little servos intended for small foamies and such. But six of these came in a 59-inch 3D (RTF)
ready-to-fly airplane. One of the two elevator servos failed to bench. We were doing a review of the
B model and frankly, it was a really nicely designed airplane. But we didn’t dare fly it with those servos.
We switched them out for Dymond 5000, and now the airplane responds perfectly to all stick inputs. By
the way, that is what we now do wit most larger size RTFs that come with No Name servos. At first glance after pulling the top off
(bottom photo), you might think: Hey, this is a quality servo. After all, it has metal gears. But look again and you see that is has no
bearing. Ok, so a lot of servos do not have ball bearings. But this
one does and does not even have a brushing. So what does that
mean? It means that the output arm simply ride against the plastic case. Overtime the plastic case will wear and the result will be
a wobbling output arm (photo below).
One of the most prevalent construction faults we find in servos is poor soldering and almost as bad, a lack
of support where wires are soldered to the amplifier board and motor. In the photo below, look at the
poor soldering and total lack of support where the wires are soldered to the amplifier board on this brand name servo.
Compare that to the excellent soldering and support for the wires on the Dymond5000 (below).
Quality soldering and wire support doesn’t get any better than this, and we don’t care what brand you are
looking at.
In case you are curious as to why that No Name servo in
the RTF failed, see below. We didn’t even bother to solder the wire back. We just junked the servo.
The photo below, of another highly advertised brand servo, comes courtesy of Bruce Simpson. He found this frayed wire almost broken
off on a brand new servo. By the way, if you really want to know how servos work visit Bruce’s website at www.rcmodelreviews.com.
The D5000 Is Strong With a weak servo you can rotate the servo simply by moving a control surface by
hand. Imagine then what air forces on the control surface can do. Try that with the D5000 and you
will bend or break something.
What About Over-Run? Over-run is when you move a transmitter stick, the servo arm moves past the
position you requested and then backs up to it. Here is where digital servos show their superiority over
analogs. However, with the analog Dymond 5000 we were unable to detect any over-run.

BACKORDERS: We backorder out-of-stock merchandise whenever possible unless you specify that you do not want an item backordered. We only charge shipping once per order and will not charge you twice for orders containing backorders. We ship out merchandise as soon as it arrives in our warehouse. Most backordered items will arrive within 2-3 days from our warehouse with the exception of lipo batteries. Lipo batteries may take 2-8 days for delivery. Dymond USA is unable to add items to a backorder. Backorders shipped to an international address will incur special shipping charges.
WARRANTY: All products have a 90 day warranty to the original owner. Abused, misused or otherwise damaged products are not
covered under the warranty policy. Warranted products must be returned with all connectors, and accessories on or we will have to
charge for the missing parts. Items covered under warranty will be replaced or repaired at Dymond USA's sole discretion. Please call
us for a merchandise return authorization number (RMA) before you ship. This number must be included with your return shipment.
Shipping cost to us is not covered under warranty, also other damages resulting during the instillation of any item cannot be covered
under warranty. We cannot control how the items were installed and used. The liability of the manufacturer cannot exceed the original cost of the purchased item.
REPAIRS: Please decide whether an item is repairable. Motors with destroyed windings or burnt speed controllers and messed up
electronic components can usually not be repaired. Leave all connectors on, so it is easier for us to check. We will quote you repair
costs before we repair your item.
SHIPPING IN THE USA: Dymond USA ships worldwide (See International Shipping for more information). We guarantee fast shipping on
most in stock items. We ship by priority mail; therefore, in most cases you will have your products in your hand within 2-3 business days.
The exception is the shipping of Lipo batteries. Lipo batteries will usually arrive within 2-8 business days. Express and overnight shipping is available for an extra charge. Please call to inquire and receive a quote.
When ordering products before 1pm EST, all efforts will be made to ship same day. When placing orders after 1 EST, the products will
be shipped next business day except Saturday, Sunday and holidays.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: Our international shipping charges are based on the size and weight of the package(s). The minimum international shipping charge is $35 without insurance and shipped at your own risk. Insurance is strongly recommended on all international orders. Dymond USA is not responsible for lost or damaged products if tracking and insurance is not purchased. If you wish to
have tracking and insurance your order will be sent Express mail. Please email us for a quote at [email protected] Be sure to
send us your complete shipping address including any apartment, suite, flat or neighborhood that is mandatory to ship your products.
Incomplete addresses will delay the shipment of your products. Dymond USA is not responsible if returned or lost shipments occur due
to an insufficient addresses. Under no circumstances will we falsify invoices or shipping labels. The customer is responsible for any applicable taxes, duties or custom fess. Inquiries regarding possible fees should be directed to your local authorities. Refused packages
will affect your return credit. Please do not request that we falsify invoices or suppress tariff codes or country of origin information.
While we do ship to most international destinations, we are unable to serve some countries at this time due to the US law or credit card
security reasons. Dymond USA reserves the right to refuse to ship to any international country. Lipo batteries cannot be shipped internationally due to USPS laws. We apologize for this inconvenience. When ordering products before 1pm EST, the products will be
shipped next business day.

Also, we cannot be held responsible for any purchased components that are incorporated into radio systems or
problems caused by incompatibility between radio components, parts and repairs not completed by our service center, etc. It is impossible to guarantee product compatibility for product recommendations.
